It will depend on who they pick to be their coach.

Probably makes Darrin Kitchens our #26 or #27
December 26th, 2009 at 7:50 PM ^
Most definitely. We just need to get Darrin up here on a visit and prove we're better than Syracuse for him!
December 26th, 2009 at 11:11 PM ^
Do we even need him to visit to do that?
December 27th, 2009 at 12:46 AM ^
Apparently, because he really likes Syracuse. They're probably his leader now.
December 26th, 2009 at 7:30 PM ^
Could affect quite a few. To name one, Florida safety Matt Elam has really been teetering on his UF commitment for a long time, his only ties really being with Meyers and his staff. However, as far as UM recruits I'd say minimal impact. For the last time, I REALLY THINK this can put to bed any DG to Florida rumors, Thank God.
December 26th, 2009 at 7:32 PM ^
it certainly should not affect much with the success they have had the last few years.
The Gator train (unfortunately) will keep on rolling along.
December 26th, 2009 at 7:59 PM ^
and the (possibly) greatest college QB ever tends to derail trains.
December 26th, 2009 at 8:04 PM ^
Ha I love the nice (possibly) touch, but I'd say a transition away from the spread probably helps the (possibly) greatest college QB ever's replacement, a more pro-style John Brantley.

That train worked great under the Zooker!
December 26th, 2009 at 7:45 PM ^
This probably finishes giftwrapping Jordan Hicks for Texas.
I can't imagine Josh Shaw sticking with Florida now, or Ronald Powell committing to them now.
December 26th, 2009 at 7:50 PM ^
If Matt Elam decommits, he might go to WVU. If I remembered, he almost decommitted from Florida after the WV visit. Then again, that was when Doc Holliday was still there.
Any chance we have a shot at Demar Dorsey?
December 26th, 2009 at 8:02 PM ^
I hear Elams also really into Georgia, but I don't know how Alec Ogletree factors into that. As far as Dorsey- ESPN has a real thing for any recruit remotely interested in UF- and their prospect rankings reflect that. Dorsey may be highly rated at ESPN, but no one else really thinks that highly of him. I'd rather get Parker, and I think we probably finish off 3 of our last 4 with Grimes, Murphy, and Parker. One guy this DOES give us a shot with, though, is Jonathan Hankins. He could very well be our 29th.
December 26th, 2009 at 8:05 PM ^
Watch out for Alabama with Hankins.
December 26th, 2009 at 8:36 PM ^
His dad said a couple of weeks ago that he was supposed to announce before Christmas. Since that didn't happen, do have an update when he plans to make his final decision?
December 26th, 2009 at 8:38 PM ^
Things are murky now, since good ol' Archie is pushing for him to visit Alabama. Nobody knows when that will happen now. Obviously sometime in January, but a decision? Who knows.
December 26th, 2009 at 8:48 PM ^
Do you believe the rumor on Gholston leaving State for Bama?
and
Are you a believer that Sean Parker is a strong Michigan lean?
Thanks again!
December 26th, 2009 at 8:54 PM ^
Not sure what to believe re: Gholston. I know Saban and Bobby Williams are gunning for him, and I don't know where Archie's loyalties lie, but until it's actually confirmed he's visiting somewhere else, I can't see Gholston anywhere but MSU.
As for Parker, conflicting info. Insiders at both Rivals and Scout have been pumping the sunshine out lately, saying UM has pulled ahead. One of the insiders at Scout who has his finger on the pulse out west (called Jefferson and Stills to Oklahoma before it happened) has said he's still hearing Parker to USC, but then said that it's possible his sources aren't on the "inner" circle of his recruitment.
Josh at Rivals has speculated that despite the public announcement of a Signing Day commitment, things could happen at the Army Bowl. My guess is Michigan is pushing Parker to commit in San Antonio, and if it doesn't happen, then they start to move on to Rashad Knight (who has a visit scheduled for January 15, a week after the Army Bowl).

Thank you.

Elam filed early enrollee papers with three schools - Florida, West Virginia, and Florida State.
And Dorsey is not expected to make it academically.
