Nicely done. The funny thing is I read this thread first before I found out the Urban Meyer news, so I had no idea what was going on.

to debut his own spinoff of the hit series Breaking Bad where he goes around the country cooking up recruitment trouble for other teams believing he himself is terminally ill

He is terrified of Kiffin.
That's the only possible explanation.

As much as I like to bust on the sucesses of UF, Tebow and Meyer this is tough to hear considering he is 45 years old.
"Meyer has been to the hospital multiple times with chest pains since the SEC title game, a Florida source told ESPN. He has been diagnosed with a heart muscle defect, the source said."

This news confuses me. Florida's DC, a very strong candidate for in house promotion likely, just left Florida for Louisville. It seems like Florida would have gone hard to keep him, especially considering the current caliber of coaches on the market. Of course the Florida AD knows much more about Strong's suitability as HC than I do.
So this means either the Meyer resignation was planned and Strong had been informed he would not replace Meyer or else the medical news was sudden. I'm leaning in the direction of sudden, because it seems like news of Meyer medical problems/resigning would leak.
As it stands now I'm also wondering if there was a hint of NCAA trouble here. It would explain Meyer punching out and Strong going to coach elsewhere instead of replacing him.

You can only work 100-hour weeks for so long before things start to break down. In Meyer's case, it was his heart. I wish him well and think he will end up making a great football analyst on ESPN.
This should make Jimbo Fisher's job at FSU a lot easier and a lot more secure. I would expect him to jump back on a few recruits who committed to Meyer, and he may break their streak as early as next year. I'll bet Bobby Bowden is really pissed about not getting an extra year or two, too.
