Aggressive turkey on the loose on North Campus, attacks people

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Aggressive turkey on North Campus has attacked passers by and has attempted to board buses

"He's also created a traffic hazard because apparently he likes to lay down in the middle of the road and not move. It can be very difficult for the buses to get around him."

And coming from a guy who can't stand when people use the word "literally" too much, this is literally the first image that popped into my head when I saw the thread title.

+1 to you sir.

What is this, parsley?

And here I thought UM fans were called Walmart wolverines. And this whole time, we're actually Walgreen wolverines. Learn something new everyday I guess.

Apparently this bird has been around for a long time. There's a parody twitter account for North Campus Turkey dating back to 2013.

Also this tweet from awhile ago-

This is a different bird most likely as it looks like a jake, notice the short "beard" on the chest.  A male turkey alive in 2013 would have an enourmous beard by now unless it froze off in the winter (not likely in Ann Arbor).  When this one grows up though and gets some nice pointy spurs and a bad territorial attitude I think people will not enjoy having it around.  The DNR will likely come in and trap it then.

I spent my first year at UM on North Campus in 2010-11. Saw lots of deer, but don't remember a turkey. That was a pretty ugly year overall--I loved living in Kerrytown though. There, I had a groundhog living under my stairs. Big fucker. A2 is a Wild Kingdom...

Im a mailman and Ive come across a few dogs and we simply rubber band the mail, write the date plus "dog" on it and take back to office. I was doing another route and started talking to an older couple. They asked me if I seen the neighbor Turkey (city route) and I said no. Sure enough the next day, there he was as I walked up to a house. He scared the shit out of me more than the pit bulls on my route!!!! That was the first time I had to write "Turkey" on the mail and return it to the office!!!!

One of the few times I went to North Campus when I was in school, I got lost trying to find some building and wandered into a clearing behind one of the Bates complexes. There were three deer just standing there. All of the sudden, students started wandering out of Bates to stare at them. Felt like the beginning of a slasher film.

North Campus is a weird, weird place.

Odd. I just watched the Blue Mountain State episode that had the attacking badger loose on campus.
