Aggressive turkey on the loose on North Campus, attacks people
Aggressive turkey on North Campus has attacked passers by and has attempted to board buses
"He's also created a traffic hazard because apparently he likes to lay down in the middle of the road and not move. It can be very difficult for the buses to get around him."

Quit jivin' me, turkey.
And coming from a guy who can't stand when people use the word "literally" too much, this is literally the first image that popped into my head when I saw the thread title.
+1 to you sir.
What is this, parsley?
Bird violence. It's a bigger crime than you know.
I once saw a guy get knocked off a jet ski by a swan. Those things can be huge.
I dare that guy to stick around until late November.
to bowhunt across the street from north campus, behind the Moslem temple close to Leslie. Sweet spot that's now 5000% off limits. I'd hazard a guess that's where that jake roosts at night.
Dratted double post
Thanksgiving will be here soon enough..,...
Apparently this bird has been around for a long time. There's a parody twitter account for North Campus Turkey dating back to 2013.
Also this tweet from awhile ago-
On U of M's north campus I saw a turkey waiting at a bus stop

I bet that bus was stuffed.
/I'll let myself out.
This is a different bird most likely as it looks like a jake, notice the short "beard" on the chest. A male turkey alive in 2013 would have an enourmous beard by now unless it froze off in the winter (not likely in Ann Arbor). When this one grows up though and gets some nice pointy spurs and a bad territorial attitude I think people will not enjoy having it around. The DNR will likely come in and trap it then.

I'm not sure if I'd swallow that story hook, line, and sinker. Seems to fit the left-wing media's anti-hunting agenda a little too well.
Is that Mark Schlareth?

He's from Virginia Tech. He wants to make sure he gets a good seat for the game in 2020.
with an enthusiasm unknown to man.err. turkeykind
Does it have any eligibility?
Forget it.
He'll only lead us on all summer and then commit to Butterball in the fall.
If I had to live on North Campus I would attack people too.

Aggressive turkey? I thought this was gonna be another Dave Brandon thread.

I'll see myself out...
I spent my first year at UM on North Campus in 2010-11. Saw lots of deer, but don't remember a turkey. That was a pretty ugly year overall--I loved living in Kerrytown though. There, I had a groundhog living under my stairs. Big fucker. A2 is a Wild Kingdom...
Was it an aggressive turkey or wild turkey, as I love me some Wild Turkey....
Have seen this guy around all summer. He's great; he just hangs out and you can walk right up to him and he could care less.
I, for one, welcome our new Turkey Overlords.
One of the few times I went to North Campus when I was in school, I got lost trying to find some building and wandered into a clearing behind one of the Bates complexes. There were three deer just standing there. All of the sudden, students started wandering out of Bates to stare at them. Felt like the beginning of a slasher film.
North Campus is a weird, weird place.
Brady Hoke was pummelled by the turkey and promptly issued a statement apologizing to the turkey for getting in its way.
Pretty sizeable bird, but displayed the traffic awareness of a squirrel.
He just has the swagger of a bird that doesn't give a shit. It's as though he's saying to drivers, "Go ahead, beeatch; hit me! I f-ckin' dare you!"
Odd. I just watched the Blue Mountain State episode that had the attacking badger loose on campus.
