Harbaugh’s offseason antics, while entertaining, are starting to feel contrived. A tweet by Adam Rittenberg
I wonder how long it took Rittenberg to contrive that thought.
In pretty much any modern browser, you can just highlight a word, right click, and search (via google, bing, or whatever your default search engine is)?
Sounds contrived... I'm reluctant to try it.
Cool! I just highlighted "highlight" in your post and it worked.
Let's try this one: Maize.
and suggest anyone unsure what the color "maize" looks like do the same.
Also, the Wikipedia article on the Maize (color) makes prominent mention of the association of the color maize with the University of Michigan, "...although the actual shade of yellow used has varied over time; however, it always approaches the color of corn."

I had to do a google search to make sure they hadn't always been yellow. That's how much I care.
It's the internet. You can totally do both at once!

Contrive this
It's clear, though, that Michigan fans don't care what I think. They don't care what you think.
That's a bingo!

He, and others in the media and Mark Davis, are probably all still a little ticked that they were wrong about him going to Michigan. Sour Grapes, enjoy!
.@AdamSchefter You're a real piece of sh*t for putting that picture up!

James Harrison mad at me.
from one of my favorite Steelers!!!

But it was whomever he got the document from and not him releasing it. Him releasing it is just poor judgement from a click hunter.
Never liked James Harrison until now.
So you are a die hard Michigan fan then!
Post I was replying to deleted by mods so ignore.

You said "but fuck"
poop in Rittenberg's general direction.
I loved this comment in his tweet:
keep this up and u may be part of the $350 million budget cut at ESPN.
And afterwards you gave him the he is the #1 sign....
Uncle Zaius is not impresssed with Adam.
The more Harbaugh is talked about the better, even if it is somewhat negative.

TIt's odd that the picked some Twitter pictures of Jim on vacation to express this sentiment. To me, that is kinda what Twitter and/or Facebook is for. It also takes 0.5 seconds to look at and move on.
However, I do agree that the constant displays of Harbaugh quirks is reaching the saturation point. For my tastes, he needs to stay out of the spotlight for awhile and put the "jackhammer" mentality to work on preparation for the fall.
The program (and Harbaugh) needs a solid season.
I'll agree on your first point. I just don't understand how Harbaugh posting normal-people things - like vacationing with his wife! - is "just strange" or "contrived" because "this has nothing to do with football."
Oh no, a football coach posted something not about football! Call the press... Umm, I mean... Never mind.
These writers are so jumpy about possibly being manipulated by Harbaugh that they are starting to jump on anything Harbaugh does.
"OMG, Harbaugh is proud of his daughter's report card. The bastard is playing us."
He will never do this, will never stay out of the spotlight. He is an agitator by DNA. If things are going OK and he and his team are grinding/working, he'll become uncomfortable with that status quo. He'll blow something up. The Cowherd interview was this exactly - he can't just abide and grind, he needs to be changing/moving.
The odd thing is that pictures of his trip to Paris triggered the article. Those were really pleasant and showed Harbaugh as a just a happy guy. They were the most genuine and least troll-worthy posts I've seen. The fact that these writers used this as their jumping point is evidence that they've been waiting for an opportunity to wade into the Cowherd troll waters on Harbaugh for a little while. Get used to it, going to be a fantastic ride.
When will all these people learn an unassailable fact:
Jim Harbaugh is who he is. He does the things he does because that's who he is. There is no grand strategy.
Just because they would do bizarre things to get attention does not mean that Harbaugh does bizzare things to get attention.
He does them because he's just bizzare.
Ironic, coming from a koala, which is known to be the most connivingest creature of all.
Posing at McDonald's in Paris? Not so much. It felt more like a holiday card engineered by the Michigan marketing arm.
We've discussed it before, but Jim Harbaugh - simply by being Jim Harbaugh - markets Michigan and there is no extra effort required. Tweeting out a photo of himself reading a Parisian McDonald's menu rather sounds like the sort of thing Harbaugh would do anyway.
Clearly it's all just a ruse and he's actually trying to set up a sattelite camp in Paris. They're way too smart to be fooled.
I am shocked that he isn't using his time and platform to, I don't know, try to make a difference by exposing dubious recruiting tactics, highlighting how schools shelter fellons, etc....
How's that for crass?
The "contrived antics" the author refers to are sharing photos from a family vacation.
OK.......
He is the most authentic person I have ever observed. How Rittenberg could put this out is beyond ridiculous.
Meaningless, contrived crap is what they pump out every day. Now Harbaugh can't do what everyone else does on Twitter: Tweet photos from family vacations?
Oh well. At least the WWL was able to generate mouseclicks revenue for a meaningless article about a meaningless tweet.
