Apparel: Michigan Nike gear of the past

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

The other day, mgoblog's Adam Schnepp wanted to see some photos of some Michigan gear from the last stint with Nike.

As I kept digging deeper, I found a lot of stuff. Since it's been painfully slow around here as it's the heart of the Dead Time i.e. July, I figured I'd make it a thread.

I prefaced the thread title with an Apparel: warning. I predict there will still be some that come in and complain.

Wow. I couldn't imagine what a grey Nike tshirt with "Michigan" on it would look like until today. Groundbreaking work.

Not even close.

He's obviously never met Pinky/Baghera/Mowgli/Baloo/Ghost of about 5 different people/countless user names that got nuked before I could recognize him cause he was a dick so quickly/etc./etc./etc./etc................

I have many of those items. I live in Ohio and when I wear them I used to here OSU fans chuckle and say, "your team doesn't even wear nike...hur hur." But now my #37 Jarrett Irons jersey can be worn with the Lloyd Carr hat again. Yes, in 1996 UM's most prominent jersey number at the M Den was 37. Not many stars on that team.

I just can't believe how different it looks compared to the stuff Adidas put out.

This shirt left me ostracized and alone.

Now that I'm wearing this, I can't go anywhere without offers for sex and sexybits!

You're also comparing technology from 20? years ago to what is available now. Not just computing power, but software like Illustrator and Photoshop that have really revolutionized the digital printing industry. You also have way more apparel printing options that take advantage of the new technology.

I just love that people get so mad about these threads that they come in these threads and tell everyone how mad they make them. Damn you MGoBlog for forcing people to read stuff they don't want to!
