Who is your favorite UM player of all-time?

Submitted by Jevy on
It's kind of a slow and boring day today, so I figured this would be a fun topic. My earliest memories of UM football is around 2000 so I think my guy is Chris Perry, the guy just did everything in my opinion! This is my first post and sometimes I see people get killed for certain posts and I have no idea why haha I hope if this thread isn't appropriate that you guys will take it easy on me and give me some good feedback on why it isn't good and what I can do to improve my MGoBoard skills. Lol Go Blue!

Anthony Carter

...is my #1, followed closely by CW

TBHR’s 5 Michigan Moments: #3 Charles Woodson’s One-Handed ... .

These 3 QB's round out my top 5 favorites:

.

Denard's Final Stride for the Heisman

Honorable mention to David Baas (he humorously accepted a "lets race up the steps" challenge by my young son after a game over a dozen years ago);

and James Hall (he spotted my then 3-year-old son picking up his helmet after the '98 Spring Game, as we walked around taking pictures.  Hall then hoisted my son up on his shoulder pads, as he still wore Hall's helmet, I have a couple of great pictures I'll have to post here someday.)

Also Mark Messner.  I met him thru a friend years ago when he was in town for a "donkey basketball" game vs. the local high school teachers.  He was gracious enough to talk for several minutes to my buddy and to me, a complete stranger.

Hands down Denard for me personally. Dude was a shining star during my time at Michigan especially after Martin and Graham graduated/got drafted.

I'll never forget him running over the Irish at their house.

Dread the dreads!

Was once Woodson.   But is now Harbaugh.  It would become a tie of Woodson came back to coach.

Anything could happen any time either of them were on the field.

Charles Woodson was the best player in college football and single handedly helped us with the MNC.

Denard Robinson makes me blush at the mere thought of his smile.

I can't decide.

1. Wheatley

2 AC

3Woodson

4 Howard

5. Leroy Hoard I liked that guy because if you needed a yard he would run thru all 11 to get that yard.

where he almost willed us to victory?  Especially in the second half against probably the best Penn State team that Michigan will ever see.

Football: Charles Woodson

Basketball: Jalen Rose (very close call over Trey Burke)

Both these guys were not just great players but seemed to emit an energy that gave their teammates a swagger that they would win because they had Woodson/Rose on their side.

He was a beast. I remember getting The Wolverine newspaper back then. One issue was captioned "Super Six" and that was the reason my little brother was always #6 in sports.

Also because he was THE MAN when I was really getting into UM football. 51 carries, legendary. I actually ran him at a Michigan bar in LA where we were both watching the 2013 MSU game, and in spite of that disappointment occurring in front of us, I spoke to him for around 30 minutes. Just an lovely guy.

Mike Hart, without hesitation.  He was so good, and never ever gave up, and he came along with the cocky attitude he could back up.  He wasn't the best U of M player in my lifetime, but man did I love watching him individually more than any other, and it's plays like this that explain why.
