A Buckeye fan who is a regular caller to a sports radio show down here was whining about how Alabama "postponed their winter semester" to keep players eligible for bowl games. I think it's great that he has his excuses ready so long before the game.

but I kind of hope OSU wins that game. I mean, they make me puke, as a matter of fact I kind of feel like puking now that I have thought about them for a few minutes. But I also often have stomach issues when I continually hear about Big Ten inferiority. A Suckeye and Penn State win could silence that for a minute, or a least take it down a few notches. Put those together with an Iowa win over a painfully beatable Georgia Tech team and maybe we can get College Gameday to switch topics off "Big Ten Sucks" for a few minutes.

OSU has top 10 recruiting classes every year. OSU has a monopoly in one of the top HS football states in the country. The OSU QB was the most highly sought-after HS football player in the history of this universe. The OSU head coach wears a sweatervest. Oregon has none of these things. /sarcasm

I think people are so used to seeing OSU beat in bowl games they just think it is going to automatically happen. Not looking at how good those teams are. Could Oregon be on and run up and down the field on them? Sure. But they're not a consistent juggernaut. And are they any better than Texas last year, who should have lost to the Buckeyes? I don't think so. Don't get me wrong; I'm rooting against them with every breath. But my gut is saying they're in this game. I just wish the spread was bigger...

on is tressel takes the reins off of the O for this game... people forget that oregon has a decent D and they are athletic and fast. if OSU's offense can't move the ball its going to be a long day for the defense.

I see Ohio State very much in this game. I actually think we could be in for the first watchable Rose Bowl since SC/Texas. I actually do think that Tressel will play conservative to a certain degree, at least early. He lives and dies by that sword. And I for one, don't think that Ohio State has won despite his antics, but in some ways, because of them.

NOTHING and I mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING good comes from the Buckeyes ever winning anything. Even though there nickname is Ducks and there Uni's look like the primary color wheel on acid I will be sticking pins in my sweater vest vodoo doll and rooting for the Quack Attack. The enemy of my enemy I call friend.

or lose...haha. A Buckeye win is good for the Big 10, but an Oregon win would be good for Michigan fans' quality of life (read amount of shit-talk spewed their way) and the prospects of the Michigan football team in the near future. Check out Oregon's schedule though: http://www.goducks.com/SportSelect.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=500&SPID=233&SPSID=33… They only beat Purdue by 2 points in Autzen, lost to Boise State, beat Utah by 7, and didn't blow anyone out until they got into the Pac 10 nummy cupcakes (including USC?!?). Oregon's Defense sucks it, but their offense if prolific. This will be a really interesting game to watch for Michigan fans. Hopefully Michigan can replicate the Duck's 2009 season in 2010 - score a TON and get just enough stops to win games.

I have new respect for Oregon's uniform shenanigans. Ninja Duck is pretty bad ass. Clearly the Oregon slot ninja's and Masoli gained an advantage via increased deception and stealth. Maybe Michigan should move toward all Navy uniforms... Clearly the white pants are not favorable, though, and I'm now happy that Michigan did not end up wearing them at Iowa. I will also advocate against them any chance I get in the future. Clearly, this uniform tracker must not be confused with http://www.ducktracker.com/ though. Because that is just weird. Also - I would advocate Modern Ninja training for Denard, Tate, Tay, Roy and the rest of the crew this offseason: "Utilized by military spies in feudal Japan, ninjutsu was considered an alternative to direct combat. Unlike the stereotypical imagery overshadowing this material arts form, authentic ninjas were extremely skilled, relying on calculation, stealth and trickery over brute strength to achieve their goals. They received training in many different fields including armed and unarmed combat, manufacturing of poisons and explosives, wilderness survival methods, geography, meteorology, medicine, concealment tactics, and infiltration skills." If fact, all Michigan fans should embrace the ways of Ninja, "Ninjas of the modern world are not just pop icons; they are living among us. They have families, shop at the local grocery store, sit beside you on the subway and eat the same restaurants. However, they are not the vengeful assassins of Hollywood glam lore. They are students of a martial arts form based on mediation, spirituality, self-control and physical conditioning. Essentially, they hope to attain the enlightenment or the development of jihi or kokoro - a benevolent heart. The form of ninjitsu that exists today has evolved to suit the needs of modern society, while still preserving the core values of the ancient form. Students of ninjutsu practice visualization and breathing exercises while training their whole bodies. Junan taiso, or body conditioning, is attained through breathing, stretching, strengthening, and aerobic exercises. Following a program that includes several training methods, modern ninjutsu students learn how to protect themselves through striking, kicking and blocking methods, grappling, chokes and escapes, rolling, leaping, tumbling and silent movement. The qualities of a ninja are true patience, self-control, dedication, loyalty and brotherhood." http://www.leesmartialarts.com/general-martial-arts/the-modern-ninja.ht…
