OT: Best hambuger in Michigan
My top 10...many of which I've had multiple times.
1. Stellas: Grand Rapids
2. Frita Batidas: A2 (technically not a buger, but a frita)
3. Hunter House: A2/B'Ham
4. Broadway Bar: Grand Rapids
5. Franks: Zeeland
6. Bubbas: Traverse City
7. Lauras Little Burger Joint: Decatur
8. Millers: Dearborn
9. B Spot: Royal Oak
10. Rays: Grand Haven
Hon Mention: Northside Bar in Manistee, Redamaks in New Buffalo, Choo Choo Grill in GR
Side Note: Best buger I've ever had was at Holstein's in Vegas...but its not in Michigan.
What am I missing?
Hunter House? You can't be serious. They're one step above white castle. The one in A2 is constantly empty and my guess is they close within a year.
Agreed. Service is painfully slow, too.
Piedmontese burger from Red Coat Tavern for the win.
Agreed that Redcoat makes a fine burger.
I'm now in West Michigan though and would vote Turk's burgers the best (located in Nunica - right off of I-96 on your way to Grand Haven).
If they don't have a Redcoat Tavern in heaven, I ain't goin'.
Not that I've got a lot to worry about on that score, anyway, but still ...
Here in Ohio the best burger I've had is sadly found in Columbus at the Thurman Cafe. It's called the Thurmator and is pretty damn amazing. Only reason to go there IMO other than to watch Michigan play....
with a picture of that burger tonight.
just F.Y.I.
Whitey's in Richfield, up in your neck of the woods, is the best burger I've had in Ohio. Delicious.
Top 2 are Red Coat and Miller's. Was happy to see Northside in Manistee in OP, thought that was my own personal secret.
Lewiston, MI. Was just at Redamaks..it was gooder

Both have solid burgers...maybe not as good as Frita but still solid. I havent had any of the others but now I shall have to!
I think everybody here took stupid pills this morning. Krazy Jim's Blimpy Burger makes national lists and it's not even mentioned here. Weirdos.
I live in NYC where you can get anything, and the only thing I want when I go back to visit Ann Arbor is Crazy Jim's. Triple on onion with onion, cheese, egg bacon. onion rings. I'd pay $50 for that right now.
Who cares about the grease, but what do I know I live in a trailer park.
Which dimension are you from?
I had corey and jacob put it on my buildings roof
My own...and if you truly know how to BBQ, then you should be saying the same thing. Hamburgers are like the easiest thing in the world to grill next to a hot dog or a brat.
May I suggest BISON to everyone, phenominal.
(Note, I'm not saying I don't like anyone else's burger, I'm not being a grill-snob, just saying if you made me pick just one, hence my favorite, or the best...it would be my own).
Bison is good and is relatively lean. The downside of Bison (in my experience) is the burgers tend to crumble (perhaps this is because they are lean?)
My species hasn't solved the riddle of fire yet. I guess the human equivalent would be raw kibbeh.
I was not that impressed with Franks. I like the brickhouse burger at Salt and Pepper if in the Zeeland area. Food Dance in Kalamazoo is an awsome burger. It's free range meat so a little more expensive but very tasty.
You can taste the hope for escape.
Wendy's
Traverse City.
Also, the best chocolate milkshake and Friday night beer-battered cod.
I always thought the 8th Street location was far better than the South Airport location. I heard the married couple who owned JS divorced and each got one of the restauarants. Wife owns South Airport location and its gone downhill.
Slabtown Burgers in TC is legit.
J+S is the heat
Gosh....I liked Hunter House so much I bought a t-shirt at the B'Ham location last month.
Bates is good. Forgot about Blimpie to be honest. Prolly deserves a spot on the list.

My favorite is actually the JP Burger at Jolly Pumpkin in A2. Great ingredients and unique cheese makes it stand out compared to others. Plus you can pair it with a great JP beer.

Agreed. I ctrl-F'd for Sidetracks and was surprised it was this far down in the comments.
+1 for Sandy's.
My grill in Pittsfield Township.
