I practically grew up on Lake Superior, spending every summer there between Marquette and Munising by the Rock River (where HO1 comes out of the wilderness). I am hoping to inherit my grandparents cottage there one day. Best beaches on the lake.

Expatriated Yooper. I grew up in Escanaba and lived there until I went U of M. I am now living in the LP and reporting all technological advances and suspicious activity back to headquarters in Munising.

Sort of an honory yooper; my dad grew up in Trout Creek/ Bruce Crossing, and went to NMU, so we went up there 2-3 times each year to see family. Great place for kids to have fun.

My family has a cabin near Bruce Crossing. (Norwich Road between M-28 and Lake Superior ring a bell?) Bruce Crossing is a classic U.P. town - it's like stepping back in time while you're there. We always looked forward to stopping at Gramma Grooters for the Granny's Omelette after the 9 hour drive. It was a sad day when it burned down.

We've own a family cottage on Sugar Island (currently my father's summer home) that we get to as often as possible (all summer as a kid). It's awesome for "White Thanksgivings" as well.

Escanaba born and bred. I'd love to move back but it is hard to imagine it. Jobs in my field pay like $15,000 less a year up there. I mean I know the cost of living is lower up there, but come on!

My NCAA created school is the Upper Peninsula University Yoopers, who play in the Big Ten with a main rival of Wisconsin. Our logo is a buck deer, and the colors are Superior Blue and Copper. Does this count for anything?

I've always wanted to check out the UP. Farthest north I've been is Traverse City (embarassing, I know). One of my brother's friends goes to Northern, says the summers aren't much different than they are back home (SE Michigan) but the winters are absurd.

Dad is from Marquette, we'd travel up there for christmas to see a lot of family there. They would welcome us by putting us to work shoveling the driveway.

No, but my mom is, so I've learned the correct pronunciation of "sauna" and "pastie" - and it's always bugged me when people draw a picture of the Lower Peninsula alone and call it a "map of Michigan."

I live under the bridge (therefore a troll) but enjoy hunting up North. When we reach Deer(beer)camp, the locals like to remind everyone that the "turdy point buck" likes to roam these here woods, eh. Someday I hope to see this legendary monster.
