Spring game at Ford Field?

Submitted by DISCUSS Man on

the other day FSU announced they'd have their sping game in orlando.

Due to the usually awful weather, would you want Michigan to maybe try to play a spring game at Ford Field?

The good news is we are within a month of camp...these 4 weeks will test our resolve...DISCUSS MAN and Frito Bandito will tempt us, but those who walk in the name of Jim, son of Bo, shall find eternal glory on September 3rd.

I mean, seeing the team and how they've progressed is all well and good, but 99.9% of the reason I go to the spring game is just for another chance to be in the Big House, rain or shine.

I wouldn't be against this.

For a SPRING game.

Maize vs. Blue.

Not for a cupcake game, not for a bowl game, not for any game that factored into our final record. But for the spring game, I could go for some WOW factor that would sell a few more jerseys and get a little more attention on the program.

I'd prefer that over pink jerseys or anything like that during the season.

No, everyone knows that Michigan Spring Football is played at noon on Saturday. Bo would roll in her s grave, blah blah blah, I can't get any chores done around my house for 3:30 games, blah blah blah, night games are too late for me to stay up, blah blah blah, it's too cold in the Midwest in April at night, blah blah blah. Did I miss any whiny excuses for proponents of the dreaded noon games? Ok good, the later the better so I can tailgate and enjoy a full day capped with re main event... Michigan football.

Why not move the spring game back 2-3 weeks? I lived in Columbus for 2 years now, and for some terrible reason the weather has been absolutely perfect (76 and sunny) for Ohio State's Spring Games held April 20-25ish. Meanwhile On April 5thish Michigan plays in 41 degree weather. Just a thought.

We have the greatest stadium on the planet! It is my favorite place! Rain or shine Id rather be at the Big House than anywhere else supporting Meeeechigan!

I think this would actually be a great idea. It would help solidify Michigan as the predominant brand in the state of Michigan. It could be marketed as a way to give players a taste of playing in the pros. I think Michigan fans consider Michigan to be closer to a professional team than a college team in terms of intensity and devotion to being the best at everything we do.
