I hope Ari gives Drama the right tickets
I'd rather have the Clipper tickets.

"You just got demoted to silvah" - Turtle
That's all. Nothing more to add.
The Edge while you're at it?
I rather like Edge. His style is very minimalist, and he relies a *lot* on electronics to augment the sound. But he's anything but the flashy-for-the-sake-of-flash rock guitarist.
He doesn't suck, but don't try to kiss him.
Bono can be a self-important prick at times ... but from a musical point of view he's a very good vocalist. Bono's voice is in many ways a fourth instrument to the band ... unlike a lot of bands where the vocalist is just a singer. Think of bands like The Doors, or Aerosmith, or The Who, or (some will not like this) Led Zeppelin where the vocalist provides a dimension to the music beyond merely being the singer.
I'm not all that much a U2 fan ... but I acknowledge talent where I see it.
Only voice I've ever heard that I would consider a musical instrument (from a rock band) in its own right was Brad Delp. I can see your point on Jim Morrison, but none of the others
Oh man, Boston's first album...that's maybe the best rock album any American band's ever made.
Chris Cornell from his Soungarden days. Example - Outshined.
was the perfect combination of poet with amazing vocal skills, crossed with an LSD and alcohol fueled intensity.
My favorite lead singer of all time.
Kurt Cobain's voice wasn't necessarily "an instrument" but it fit perfectly with the sound Nirvana was going after. In any other band, he wouldn't have even been a decent singer.
Another example -- Freddie Mercury of Queen.
Very unique style ... but absent him, Queen is pretty much just another rock band.
It is actually a U505 and a rather cool attraction at Navy Pier.
U505 is at Science and Industry, not Navy Pier.
Correct my bad...
I wonder if Bono will be wearing sunglasses.
If he does wear sunglasses, he always wears a sign around his neck so you know who he is.
Does he have glaucoma or something? There was something in the news a couple months ago explaining the shades
I had no idea there was a medical reason, I thought he was just being a douche.
Well this is going about how I expected...
I didn't really have an opinion on U2 until the randomly showed up on my itunes....wtf get out of here.
U2 was the first band I witnessed to sell out. I remember how cutting-edge I thought I was when I saw "Gloria" on MTV in 1981 or '82, and telling my fellow 10-12 yo friends that this band was going to be awesome. They were awesome for a few years until they got way too popular (probably around 1987). I knew then what "jumping the shark" meant.
Music hipsters are the worst.
Oh I know, but I was a hipster at a very young age. Had their stuff on vinyl, even.
In the 80s, hipsters were into metal tape. My bootleg of "Tim" still sounds great.
I'd rather go see the Wiggles.

Wake Up Jeff
Fruit salad! Yummy-yummy!
Edit: My wife is Australian, and even she hates the Wiggles.
That..... What the fuck? I hate it, but I will spend the next twenty days youtubing these weirdos.

We saw the Wiggles in concert. The child equivalent of U2.
Didn't he have some throat surgery? Oh wait, that was Nickleback. I get them mixed up. Bono is an even bigger douche than the lead of Nicklemullet. I don't care how great of a singer he is. He is a total dickweed. Why some hold complete losers who have accomplished zero in life in such high regard is beyond me. A girl or guy will sleep with a drop out drug addict, because they can sing well.
He is the lead singer of one of the most popular bands of the past 30 years. I'd say that qualifies as an accomplishment.
What have you achieved in life aside from trolling?
I graduated from the best college, live by Sawgrass on the ocean, travel over the world twice a year. I have a great family and yes in money he beats me. He is a singer, what an accomplishment. Bums on the street can sing. Just saying we hold musicians to a high standard. They get paid more than a heart surgeon just seems fucked up. That is all, sorry I don't like Bono. Drew and Mike loved him on the WRIF. lol
If heart surgery were $11.99 those fuckers would be raking it in. Is it my problem they are working with such a messed up business model?
I'm having a hard time figuring out who the pompous douche is - the guy who spends his money, time and efforts doing humanitarian work around the globe in places nobody has an interest in or the guy who demeans all of it because he doesn't like his music?
You are obviously a fan like most ladies. It is nice he gives to charity. He is an asshole in personal life and runs his uneducated mouth on world issues. f who cares, its just an opinion. Before you say have I met him personally the answer is yes.
You've made it perfectly clear who the pompous douche is.
to the user name Philmypockets.
is Irish, and will be remember by millions long after he passes. You, on the other hand, will die anonymously.
Living next to Sawgrass? Lol. That isn't an accomplishment. Merely living in a location is never an accomplishment.
There are far more heart surgeons than lead singers of rock groups. Anyways, farmers are the most valuable people. We need food more than heart surgery. They should be the first people you think of.
has left the building.
So Iggy and the Stooges are more your thing?
You're giving his musical tastes way too much credit...
BTW I believe Iggy's playing Riotfest this fall, unfortunately won't be able to go but would love to see him at some point.
