OT: #EATING clean up day - Detroit 7/1 and I brought passion fruit from the FL garden to share
Hello everyone,
It is Vincent Smith again.
I know we are all waiting for the new season with our NEW COACH and its only a little bit more.
I wanted to let everyone know we are expanding our #EATING project ( I am building community gardens and working to mentoring youth in the justice system) into Flint and Detroit.
We have a clean up day working with the Humphries Family in Detroit on WED 7/1 AT 6:30pm. I will be there and so will some of my friends. I hope you can join us.
THE ADRESS: 7818 Wykes Street in Detroit. Bring Gloves, we will be weeding in vacant lots so that we can make the area more beautiful which helps mental health.
Also I have some passion fruit from our first garden in Pahokee and if you are in the Ann Arbor area I would like it to share with everyone because with out my Michigan FAMILY there wouldnt be this wonderful project.
GO BLUE AND I CANT WAIT TO SEE THIS SEASON
VS
keep up the great work. I wish I was located nearby to help.
Thank you will do
Me too, Vince. Thank you for your philanthropy.
Upvote. Love that
Can you please do an AMA on here sometime before the season starts? If you are unsure, just think of the sweet, sweet karma you will get. You'll be over 10,000 (extremely valuable) mgopoints by the end of your session. I politely asked last month and it would be great to get updates after your event and maybe field some questions from us about the team.
Ahh yes, I see that you are intrigued. Thanks, brother!
When can I do it, when would be a good time
Anytime really, whenever you're free but I would guess Monday-Thursday is when most of us are by our computers.
I'll be coaching my daughter's T-ball team then but I hope it goes well!
Maybe next time
Maybe next time
You are never OT V. Smith
Hahaha
You are living it, Vince.
Great work!
Should people bring anything?
Gloves is the only thing. I think everything else is covered
Glad to see your passion is bearing fruit, Vincent.
I'll show myself out...
Hopefully your passion never becomes annoying.
Hopeful it doesn't get annoying or I'll just replant the seeds again
There you go. Putting them in the ground, scoring touchdowns with fruit
Love passion fruit and would be happy to volunteer for the project. But I'm not in the Detroit area any more. Ever consider bringing #EATING efforts to Chicago?
We would love to come to Chicago maybe in the future. I know big Chris from Chicago
If the project ever makes it to Chicago, I'd love to help out. I think you would find a ton of alums that feel the same way.
I will add Chicago to the list. And get people apart of it
#EATING is never OT around these parts!
Thank you
Good to hear you're trying to make a difference in young kids lives. Go Blue!

Hey Vince,
Excellent work you guys are doing. Please do keep it up.
I sit on the boards of two nonprofits in Detroit focused on community health (including health parks), nutrition and fitness. Please do check out Healthy Detroit and The Networkingout Foundation. If you're interested in working with either or both, drop me a response here so we can connect off-line.

I will also try to make it down to help in Detroit. It's amazing everything you do for the communities.
Thank you so much and we will keep you updated because we're thinking of putting together dates soon. And hope to see you in Detroit if it works out
