i forgot my calculator to my chem 130 final. it's really fun trying to estimate things like 1.786E-8 * 7.203E-17. somehow i still got a B on it

Math 116: the only place one can earn B for an exam on which they scored 40%.
Sometimes I swear professors write an exam just to see how badly people can fail it.

NERS 211. Intro to Nuclear Engineering for non-engineers (basically full of IOE kids). The best exam score was a 65%, the average was like 25%, yet I think everyone got an A. It was the only class I got an A+ on in college. The professor was hilariously fun.

Ronald Fleming was the guy's name. What was funny was that the stuff he covered in class was not at all what was actually on the exam. That class was the one and only time where I sat down to take a test, didn't understand one single question, and yet didn't feel panicked or pressured at all. Somehow I ended up with an A- despite bombing both midterms and probably the final as well. Looking back on it now, I feel like I got cheated.

My EECS 280 prof (back in Winter '07) straight up told us that his goal for every exam is to have an average of about 50. I guess if you go into it like that, it isn't a huge deal. He argued you get better spreads of scores and you can better evaluate how well students understand the material.
He was a really good prof and it made sense, but god is that stressful for a student.

See I just can't understand that thinking. Why instructors have to make something so excruciatingly difficult that the average is a typically failing grade, only to curve the tests so that the highest scores of failing grades pass the class is beyond me.
Wouldn't it be easier to just, you know, make an exam that is somewhat passable and the average a 70% like every other class is?
I mean it's somewhat demoralizing to spend hours on end studying for a test only to take it and fail. How is that helpful of learning the material?

a political science blue book that was a lot of writing. It made my hand hurt. Glad I passed college tho.

They handed out the math 215 final, I looked at all the problems, and decided my time was better spent taking a nap. What a refreshing nap it was.

Hope the calc went well, I was surprised I passed calc III, but liked diff eq much better.
My first two finals of the semester are tomorrow, Aero245 and Physics 240 right after each other... on separate campuses. FUUUUUUUUUUUU-
And then Matscie220 on Monday. and then drinking heavily, packing while intoxicated, getting on a plane, going back to New York, and then wondering why I packed nothing but bikinis, underarmour, and my viking hat. I've got this down.
