Volleyball vs Hawaii (we get swept)
We play the Wahine in about 10 minutes. Should be a good match if we bring the same intensity as yesterday.
I've got a cold, hence staying in for the game, but it might keep me from watching the whole match. That and I have work tomorrow at 6am. We'll see how it goes.
We're wearing maize.
Go Blue, Beat the Wahine.

Let's hope it's worth the wait! Go Blue!

Will this match be televised anywhere? What about espn360 or something else obscure?
December 12th, 2009 at 11:33 PM ^
ESPN U has the match
December 12th, 2009 at 11:36 PM ^
well I am happy for the 3 people that have it, unfortunately I am not one of them
December 12th, 2009 at 11:36 PM ^
ESPNU and Other Chris said
earlier today. May or may not work. I've got it on TV.
December 12th, 2009 at 11:45 PM ^
It's working for me thus far.
December 12th, 2009 at 11:38 PM ^
Sloppy sloppy. Focus.
ARGH OVERPASS FOR POINT IS RIDICULOUS!!!
December 12th, 2009 at 11:46 PM ^
12-8 at first time out for Hawaii. Our serve is on and Bruck looks a bit better today. Bower has made a couple key plays on the block/attack so far.
I find it amazing how teams continue to block Hunt wrong on the left side. Stanford and now Hawaii keep throwing up blocks that are perfect for right handed hitters. As a lefty, she can take a free shot at their far right arm and force it out of bounds for an easy point.
December 12th, 2009 at 11:49 PM ^
Much better spread of the offense for Hawaii. Our game plan was to shut down #5. They took advantage of it on that 5-0 run. Spread the ball to the right side hitter and we made a few errors. Time for Mrs. Rosen to make the next move.
December 12th, 2009 at 11:58 PM ^
We definitely got the 4th string announcers.
Quit calling it yellow. It's maize. Where is Fancett at. Get these women straight.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:19 AM ^
Danielson is just heating up!
How many times are they going to repeat that?
December 13th, 2009 at 12:03 AM ^
Calling that a double as set point? Boo.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:04 AM ^
There's a ton of double calls today in all 4 games. I don't know if that was a emphasis for the officials during this weekend's prep or what. Tough call.
Down 0-1. The good news is we got out of that funk that started the set. We need to jump ahead early. Crowd is definitely pro Hawaii.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:04 AM ^
That was a bullshit call.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:11 AM ^
Our timing is really bad right now. I'm not sure if that's on the hitters or Lexi.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:19 AM ^
This isn't going well. We're not passing well, which is putting us out of system, limiting our attacking capabilities. We're not getting two blockers in front of the Hawaii attackers. We're not doing much well at all.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:20 AM ^
These announcers are talking about how hot Alex Hunt is and I can't help but wonder what they really mean.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:21 AM ^
Yes, Paz, put the hair up. I can feel the tide turning from that. Rally cap style.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:26 AM ^
That David Goliath thing about being too aggressive, it's killing us tonight. So many errors on hits, passes, serves.... everywhere.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:28 AM ^
Let's go Michigan!
December 13th, 2009 at 12:30 AM ^
Fuck.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:30 AM ^
Remember Ohio.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:31 AM ^
The Hawaii coach sums it up well:
We're not playing well, they're not playing well, nobody's playing well.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:36 AM ^
They're just making a few more plays than we are. That's been the difference so far.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:37 AM ^
Michigan needs to be able to take advantage of Hawaii not playing well. Paz and Bower seem too amped and keep hitting long.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:43 AM ^
But I still have faith.
Unfortunatly it's almost 1:00 already and I have to go to bed soon.
Here's hoping for a comeback.
Go Blue!

Watching a stream of a woman's athletic event is a depressing experience. The comments make me sad.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:54 AM ^
I will fight and kill anyone who dares try to degrade our women.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:56 AM ^

Then you can close the main window and not have to waste bandwidth on idiotic comments.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:58 AM ^
Yeah, I realized that just after I wrote that post.
And it doesn't look good. Hopefully hockey can win and at least get in the top half of the CCHA tomorrow.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:59 AM ^
If it's that much punishment for you, don't watch.
Personally, I think women's volleyball is hot.
December 13th, 2009 at 1:01 AM ^
Yeah, that was not the vein of the comments. More that they're fat or whores. Or random rumors about them sleeping with football coaches. Fun times!
Casual sexism bugs.
December 13th, 2009 at 8:38 AM ^
So, dumb comments, dumb commenters.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:56 AM ^
STOP THE DAMN SERVICE ERRORS
I have 31 errors by my count. That's service, serve return, blocking, passing, hitting combined. Ouch.
December 13th, 2009 at 12:57 AM ^
This ref has the same wimpy whistle as the one for the Ohio regional match.
December 13th, 2009 at 1:01 AM ^
Is this a Courtney Fletcher sighting?

December 13th, 2009 at 1:06 AM ^
It's tough to sit all day and wait. It's a pity they didn't show well tonight, but it has still been an amazing year.
December 13th, 2009 at 1:06 AM ^
Sigh... it's over. Great season girls. Good luck to you seniors as you move on.
I may have some sort of emo post up tomorrow night. Good night.
December 13th, 2009 at 1:11 AM ^
And like my wife just said... Penn State is gonna kill Hawaii anyway.
December 13th, 2009 at 1:07 AM ^
Disappointing end to a great season.
Go Big Ten.
December 13th, 2009 at 1:15 AM ^
A Michigan team in the national semifinal? In 2009? We should have known it couldn't happen. I haven't been this depressed since 1953*.**.
*Or whatever year Brian said it sucked this much to be a michigan fan.
** Yeah, I was born in 1984, screw off.
December 13th, 2009 at 1:28 AM ^
Sad and disappointing end to a great season tonight. Really proud of how this team played this year. 2009 sets another high point for Michigan Volleyball. This senior class is going to be tough to see go, and good luck to them all. They have represented Michigan to the highest standard.
Hope to see a Penn State-Minnesota final.
December 13th, 2009 at 1:34 AM ^
Thank you Paz, Rood, and Bower for wearing the Maize and Blue with pride.
Go Blue.
December 13th, 2009 at 2:49 AM ^
Cassie Petoskey! We may not have seen her on the court too often, but the team wouldn't have been the same without her, to her as well a salute and a big thank you.
December 13th, 2009 at 3:34 AM ^
I'm so glad I got to cheer you on several times this season! You girls are amazing and thank you for a great season!
Sincerely,
A proud fan
