OT-ish: "The Muppets" TV Show Trailer

Submitted by Space Coyote on

I'm a big fan of The Muppets. The TV shows, the old movies, the new movies, the Walt Disney World 3D show, pretty much all of it.

Well, they are going to have a new TV show this Fall, and I for one, am looking forward to it and all the memes it is sure to create.

I grew up with the original TV show, although I primarily watched it in syndication as I would have been way little, if you will when it was first airing. That being said, I have always enjoyed the films for the most part, particularly the older ones. I made my kids sit down and watch "The Great Muppet Caper" last week actually, and they liked it, much to my shock.

I'll definitely be tuning in.

I embarrassed my wife at one of her company dinners a couple months ago. As we waited to be served, her boss wanted us to go around and say our 3 all time favorite movies. I named 2 and for my third I said anything with the Muplets in it. After I said this, she turned a bit red, however, the older crowd at the table all agreed and a nice little discussion started.
But do I get credit for starting a conversation? No. I get in trouble for being a kid and bringing up kid movies. If she'd just give them a chance....

The last time The Muppet Show premiered, Michigan went 10-2, won the Big 10, finished 3rd in the polls and launched a 3 year winning streak over the Buckeyes that ended with Woody Hayes being fired.

Just sayin'.

Funny this hot posted. My client is actually a puppeteer (no joke) and is a part of this show. He just told me last week that the show got the green light. Muppets all day!!

Only saw 1 or 2 of the movies but I always wondered why they didnt bring back the TV show.  Format was clean, family friendly, simple fun and featured a celeb.  The culture of celeb worship is much higher now then it was in original TV series era so you'd think at least on that angle it would have more ratings.  I hope they focus mostly on the old characters (GONZO!) but I bet it will be a lot of the new age muppets!
