Michigan offers Indiana 2016 RB/S Kiante Enis

Submitted by Magnus on

The nephew of former Penn State running back (and Chicago Bears bust) Curtis Enis was offered by Michigan's staff. Interestingly, he's a running back/free safety. With Kingston Davis getting offers from Florida and LSU recently, offers like this to guys who have position flexibility could pay off down the road. I'm not implying that Davis is likely to flip, but it's just notoriously difficult for northern schools to recruit in the deep south when SEC teams come calling. Enis's other "big" offers are from Cincinnati, Indiana, and Louisville.

Here are Enis's highlights:

While he is playing against competition that is far from elite, I'm sort of believing the 4.35 thing as he makes slow high school safeties look really, really slow ..... way, really, really slow ..... borderline extraordiarily way, really, really slow.

This would be a kid for sure that I'd give the chance to pick his position coming in.

He definitely worked some magic at Penn State, as I recall - two years of 1,000 yards rushing or more, 1997 Consensus All-American. I think he averaged almost 6 yards per rush in his career there too. I believe he went 5th overall in 1998 actually - a bit of a shame that the production did not translate to the NFL.

After watching the tape I highly doubt he is being recruited as a RB, due to the style JH desires to run offensively. I do see him definitely being a FS or Slot especially if the 4.3 maybe 4.4 speed is legit

He reminds me of Demetric Felton (now a UCLA commit) that Harbaugh was after in terms of speed and being a playmaker. Broke my damn heart when Felton went to the Bruins but Enis looks like an equally solid player. Overall, I'm liking the kind of players that Harbaugh & Co. are going after. This class is going to shock the world!

who knows maybe enis ends up an electric playmaker at the next level.  but hes not on the same level as that kid felton, at least now.  enis has longer strides and plays against weak competition - plus takes him several yards to work up to top speed.  felton is much quicker, able to hit top speed much faster than this enis dude.  maybe enis ends up developing his game but as of now hes not a one cut home run type player at highest levels - just takes too long to hit the gas.  well see, hes got some solid potential and looks like a nice under radar athlete type to jump on board.  enis plays more like a S prospect right now but who knows how he looks after several more years of maturation, development and honing his football instincts.  felton hes not but maybe felton already his ceiling in terms of maturation and jimmys buying low on this dude

I learned about this offer from my wife. She is excited because Winchester is her home town and she knows the family. She said Ohio State was his team, so hopefully they don't come through with an offer.

The kid goes to my school. Everything is legit. He just ran a 10.5 laser timed. Kid is a big time prospect and he's getting tons of love for it. He is underrated. Just wait on it.
