OT: Uncle Jesse returns

Submitted by DISCUSS Man on

so. Netflix just announced that they greenlit a Full House spinoff series called.......

Fuller House

The plot is virtually the same as the original series except the kids from that show are now obviously the adults taking care of their own children.

MGoJohnStamos makes his triumphant return.

They should bring them back. Why not bring Jodie Sweetin back too? Danny could be taking care of his grandkids because his daughters are all burned out do-nothings living in his basement. That might be a little bit too realistic to really be entertaining though.

a Full House redux is the perfect vehicle for a sensitive treatment of addiction behavior, the pressures of stardom, self-destructive tendencies, and other topics and behavioral issues of interest to a younger audience who I assume are its intended target.

For years, I have been wondering what the hell is wrong with anyone who is younger than I am.  Now I know.

When I hear "Unlce Jessie" I think of a tough old Southern guy in overalls and Catherine Bach's legs.  The younger crew thinks of John Stamos and Full House.  No wonder they are all f'ed up.

(Relax, I'm kidding.  Sort of.)

They're doing the same thing with this as they did with the spinoff of Boy Meets World, Girl Meets World.

Later it will be called "This Old House"  about a guy (below) who comes in and murders everyone and then gut-rehabs the house.

Then it will become Amityville Horror when the next family moves in.  This then leads into to the first episode of The Walking Dead, when you realize the house is Rick's house.

It was the original in all the bad Nick Shows to follow...

iCarly, Victorious, Sam and Cat, etc...

Fuck them and their Gawd awful laugh track.

NOW GET OFF MY LAWN.

are still on Nick constantly, I think it is somewhat reasonable for a new generation to assume it to be a Nick show, it is on Nick nearly every other hour (I don't watch it but my son's fallback is Spongebob and that basically splits time with Full House on Nick)..

I guess I just ask Netflix, as a big fan of Orange is the New Black and Bloodline and really the entire Netlix endeavor, why, Netflix?  Why?

Fuller House?  Seriously?  Why would they possibly green light this?

Is it going to have a laugh track?  This has no chance to succeed.  This is a brand-damaging decision.

It depends what way they go with it. Netflix has a whole kids focused side, which is bringing back new episodes of The Magic School Bus. If they mean for this to target that audience, it shouldn't have anything to do with the normal Netflix brand.

Bad day at work and took it out on Nick, and the state of kids TV.

I had to put the foot down in the house on this crap...and the crap on Disney XD....Lab Rats, Dog with a Blog, Jessie, I didn't do it, Kickin it, and others I cannot remember the titles of but are constantly showing over and over.

The laugh track on these shows is the worst......The worst.

Those with Tween aged kids will understand my RAGE.
