Blue in Yarmouth

The hospital I work at has a yearly fund raiser at Christmas time and part of it is having a Santa for the kids. I am going to preface this by saying this is the absolute truth and one of the funniest things I have ever witnessed in my life. They have a big chair and stage kind of thing that he sits on with elves and stuff. Behind the big throne is a curtain, behind which preparations take place. There is Christmas music playing and a sing along with the children in the crowd. Santa is supposed to come out when the kids start singing Rudolph, which he does on cue. The problem being, Santa forgot to strap up his pants, which promptly feel to his ankles and tripped him. This would have been bad enough, but when he tripped, he was near the stairs that lead down to the floor and rolled down the steps into a crumpled pile. This was bar none the funniest Santa experience I have ever wintessed. It was allowed to be funny because he wasn't seriously hurt (had he been hurt it would have still likely been funny, but people would think you were horrible if you laughed). The only thing that got hurt during the event was Santas pride, some childrens psyche and perhaps some older childrens belief in Santa.
