Suh deserves it more than any winner in years

Very deserving. By the definition of the Heisman (the most outstanding player in college football) he should win it. But if Gerhart wins I'm still cool with that.

The fact that Tebow got invited over Spiller is pure grade horseshit. One of those players was electrifying this year, the other got invited because people remember him being electrifying. That being said, Ingram probably wins, despite Suh and Gerhart having better seasons. Will Ingram be the first Heisman winner from the state of Michigan?

Good for him, he's one heckova football player. I for one would love to see another defensive player win it. I just hope the voters put politics and bias aside and vote for the best college football player, not just the most popular.

Christ, they couldn't stand not inviting Tebow, could they? As opposed to 2008 Graham Harrell, with more touchdowns, more yards, and only one loss, who had to watch on TV?

I'm sorry Kellen Moore, I guess a 39-3 touchdown interception ratio on an undefeated team doesn't get what it used to. Not even an invitation. The CJ Spiller snub is big too. I think Suh probably deserves it, but Ingram will win it. I like all of the top three so I don't really mind if any of them wins. Here's for Suh in a Lions jersey next year!!

As a Texas fan, I want Colt to win it. But he deserved it after last year's season, not after this year's season. Suh is a great player, but there were games this year where he just disappeared. He looked terrible against Texas Tech, where he had the most opportunities for sacks. Tebow shouldn't have been invited. I don't think anyone considers him a real candidate this year. CJ Spiller almost single-handedly willed his team to victory in the ACC title game. He deserved to cry after his effort, not Tebow. Ingram disappeared in Alabama's biggest rivalry game of the year, and my dislike for everything Saban related creeps in here. (One a side note: In the Iron Bowl, Alabama looked like Texas did against Nebraska, yet no one is calling for TCU to jump them). This award, if it truly is the most outstanding player, should go to Gerhart, even though I want Colt to win it. He played the best in his biggest games (Notre Dame, USC, Oregon).

Suh or Gerhart probably deserve it most. Ingram couldn't have stank up the Auburn game, one they nearly lost, more if he had taken a huge dump on the field. McCoy played poorly in their conference championship game, largely because he was running for his life from Suh on many plays. Ingram playing an excellent game in the SEC Championship helps, but I can't help but think of that horrid performance in the Auburn game where he was basically benched for his backup. On the other hand, Gerhart came up big in their biggest games, and Suh was simply a beast all year, coming up with one of the most dominant games from a defensive player I've ever seen in the conference championship.

Colt 'The Answer' McCoy will walk away with the trophy. The QB with the most wins in the history of the game on an undefeated team playing for the NC is a valuable player.

With this information guess which one is a Heisman candidate and which one didn't even win DPOTY in his conference. (Also keep in mind that one player played 12 games and one player played 13 games).

I could be wrong on this if I'm forgetting others, but the last time a defensive player was invited was in 1991 when Steve Emtman from UW was named a finalist and finished 4th. 1991 was of course the year Desmond won it. Kinda cool trivia.

Warren Sapp was invited in 1994. I remember him saying in his interview that he stood no chance of winning because, referring to the ball, "you've got to be totin' it." I liked that. I remembered that when Woodson won a few years later; he at least occasionally toted the ball.

Take away McCoy and Tebow, who have not had Heisman calibur seasons, and invite Spiller and Kellen Moore. My vote: 1) Suh 2) Gerhardt 3) Moore 4) Spiller 5) Ingram

That's cool, but he most likely will finish 4th or 5th. For some crazy reason, Heisman voters are allowed to cast ballots as early as the first week of November, so a lot of them were probably already cast before his monster performance on Saturday.
