I mean, that's just what recruiting is in 2015, I guess. Yet another of the many reasons I don't follow recruiting.
I think he is trying to tell her what the philosophy is at Michigan and how Michigan will make Naseir Upshur a better person.
that he didn't send this without some sort of approval from him first, or he got some sort of warning that it was happening...."Hey, you should send my girlfriend a letter..." or something like that.
I really hope that he had approval from the recruit before sending this letter. Otherwise, I am not a fan of this tactic at all. It definitely would have to be for the right person.
Presumably, he would not have known this girl existed (much less had her contact info) without being told by Upshur, so I have to imagine he was given permission to do so.
But yeah, recruiting is kind of icky.

It's a little different but done tastefully, I think. One is ok, but think it could get weird if he did this for multilpe recruits.
