D. Walton tells reporter he's suiting up vs. Wisconsin.
I think the reporter is misinterpreting the quote.
yeah i\he has techinically suited up the past few games
Yeah, I was about to say the same thing, but it's good to hear talk about him possibly playing against Wisconsin, assuming he's completely healthy. Go Blue!
how cool would it be we actually make the dance by wining the tournament. not that I expect us to go far in the tourny, but just salvaging the season by doing that would be huge for next year.

Do you have a medical card for the joint you're smoking? I don't care either way, just curious.

What makes you think winning the BTT is that farfetched? They've proved they can keep up with any team in the league. Getting past Wisconsin will be tough, but it's not like Arizona and Kentucky would be looming after that.

Lots of games on no rest and very short on players takes its toll. Impossible, no....improbably, highly. I'd love to see Walton play, but he hasn't been practicing. What kind of game shape could he possibly be in?
I actually did the OL part of LOL
If he's 100% healthy, fine. I just don't want him further injuring himself and setting his recovery back. But we'd need him to have any chance of pulling the upset.

Exactly. This team won't make the tournament without winning this one, so next season is far more important. If everyone comes back, this team will be really good next season.

You realize we almost beat them without him this year; right?
No we didn't. Walton dominated that game.
Well I guess you're right! Wow it seems like he's been out for longer. My fault!
Hope he suits up if he can. I went to high school in Madison and the Badgers have always been my #3 rival. I actually went to Bo Ryan's camp when he was at UW-Platteville.
but these aren't the same wierd guys...

Well he scored 17, but he was 4-12 with 5 TOs. Hardly dominant.
Not only did he play in that game, he hit the three that sent it to OT.

And I watched it happen!
Sorry; I forgot. Must be all the concussions and bong hits.
I think if he can come back tommorow, ease him into it because MAAR is really coming on, and to begin the Illionos game the chemistry and ball movement with this team was great. Don't start him because I think the guys on the floor are completely competent
I had thought that - at least earlier in the week - the outlook for Walton in the Big Ten Tournament was leaning towards the bleak side, but then you also have the quotes from a few sources that mention they've been taking this day-to-day, which sort of leads me to believe they may insert him for a limited time if they think he can handle it. Walton mentioned in an interview today, I believe, that they would not force it though - everyone would need to be on the same page for him to come into a game.
"Michigan G Derrick Walton Jr., sidelined since Jan. 24 because of a left toe/foot injury, said he will play against Wisconsin. Michigan considered having him return against Illinois but decided to wait at least another day. The sophomore is averaging 10.7 points."
Spike could really use a back up. . .

Derrick rebounds and plays defense. He is also a much better athlete and just as good a shooter.
Ya know, he did suit up today.....he just didn't play.
It would be sick to win the big ten tourney lol. I had a feeling the other day. If the guys can win this game, they can win the tourney.

If Michigan could not win the BTT the last two seasons with the talent they had, then it is not happening under Beilein.
How many thought we would reach the Championship game or have five draft picks in two years although admittedly that is probably correlated (although look at Flordia).
I think we are due to hit one of those half court buzzer beater shots against these guys.
Whatever I'm just happy they played well today and sad I missed it. I'm definitely going to try to catch the second half. If they can just keep it close they could steal it late.
Just keep doing your best men that's all any of us can do.
This would be huge but not sure it will happen
but I'd like our chances much better if we had one more weapon out on the floor; Derrick would most certain fit the role.
He couldn't go today but he can go 24 hours later ... after sitting out for weeks. I can't buy that.
maybe the thought was he could go but he wouldn't be able to go the next day. So if you have him for day 20min tommrow and it gets you a win. the next two games should be easier and saving him for wisconsin may of got you enough to win the tourney. just a thought.
of ballhandling, couple of assists, couple of rebounds, and a bucket or two, what a lift.
5 minutes of Walton at 75% is better than Dakich at 100% no disrespect to Andrew. I just feel an injured Walton could be at least as effective as Dakich while being an offensive threat.
What exactly is his injury now? I understand that this is a separate issue from the turf toe?
March 12th, 2015 at 10:06 PM ^
...if he's healthy, let's roll.
March 12th, 2015 at 11:34 PM ^
I can't see a scenario where he would be a 5th year senior. So I agree, I think it'll be okay.
March 12th, 2015 at 11:01 PM ^
I think we should take the Mike Tice "Randy Ratio" approach tomorrow.
Every 2.4 possessions Dawkins should shoot a 3 (Zak and Spike can be a part of that too)

Welcome back D Walt. Let's shake up the World!
March 12th, 2015 at 11:45 PM ^
Well, i know we've had a rash of injuries and bad luck, but how do we know this reporter is decent even if he does suit up??
March 13th, 2015 at 12:53 AM ^
If Spike or Rahk gets the foul trouble autobench, I'd much rather have Walton at 80% than a healthy Dakich.
Also, even if he is suiting up, how good will he be without practicing for 4+ weeks?
