The embed just doesn't work right away when you post it, but provided you did embed correctly they will over time.

Thanks. I added the pics via URL links separately so hopefully this works.

Wow.
Whoever questioned the team mom position generally (I put myself in that category), and whoever questioned Ms. Bush's qualifications for that job specifically (I've noticed others), how do you feel now? It's time to eat crow.
I do so proudly. This is amazing. Thank you Harbaugh. Thank you Gwendolyn. You two could teach Dave Brandon something about marketing.
February 17th, 2015 at 6:58 PM ^
is looking like a genius in marketing. I can't really believe this is Michigan, it is so unlike us and that is awesome.
February 18th, 2015 at 12:42 AM ^
And yet it's authentic, not just some Dave Brandon schlock.
Very Impressed with how Jim Harbaugh runs a total organization, with everyone hitting on all cylinders. There appears to be an actual plan, not just a bunch of people running around making it up as they go.
There is a palpable buzz around the program that can't be ignored.
February 17th, 2015 at 4:29 PM ^
Yup, you're right. It ended up working now!
February 17th, 2015 at 4:31 PM ^
The "Team Mom" position is just genius. That is all. Harbaugh.
February 17th, 2015 at 4:39 PM ^
Seriously how the fuck did they not think of this before?
February 17th, 2015 at 4:40 PM ^
they were still figuring out how to get 11 players on the field for special teams
February 17th, 2015 at 4:46 PM ^
Not to mention they couldn't find the money for it because Brandon was busy putting together his kickass marketing team.

Lochdog would be perfect for the Browns...

An NBA franchise seems like a perfect fit for him.

The Browns and Lochmann would have been an interesting combination - "The Kraft Factory Of Sadness, Brought To You By Coca-Cola And Yum! Brands" or something like that would have been the best. As it stands, he'll have to work with "Talking Stick Resort Arena", as it is now known officially in Phoenix.

Home away from home...good point. When you consider the national recruiting angle you can see how this is a very proactive and strategic move on Harbaugh's part....this will be a nice bif of comfort to the mothers and fathers sending their kids to AA from across the country.
February 18th, 2015 at 12:45 AM ^
This is great. Do other teams have this?
February 18th, 2015 at 8:06 AM ^
IDK...but its a good question.
And you have to figure if they haven't been doing it...many of them will want to emulate this now that Harbaugh is doing it.

have a very strong woman around in a position of authority to continuallyt remind everyone how women should be treated.

of when 1 upvote is simply not enough.
February 17th, 2015 at 9:11 PM ^
no doubt - its foolish not to.
all big time programs employ player development directors (or student-athlete liaison, development coordinator, etc - just different titles with ittle variation in duties) in addition to other support staff positions - michigan has really lagged behind in those departments.
but many programs do not employ confident, capable women in that type of active role and its missed opportunity. theres enough dudes around the team, a cool chick with her qualifications (and added bonus of a highly recruited son playing D1 ball) is a no brainer. we had like a retired 70 yr coach as our player development director, it wouldve been great to have had someone like this woman

She's the mom every obsessed Michigan football fan always wanted.
I love Mama G.
February 17th, 2015 at 4:48 PM ^
She's just what I pictured from a Michigan Mama! She is very enthusiastic, warm and happy!
February 17th, 2015 at 5:03 PM ^
Doesnt hurt that shes attractive either.
February 17th, 2015 at 4:49 PM ^
She has "it." Those are authentic smiles all around. What a contrast from the prior administration's welcoming committee. Now let's win games and have us lots more smiling.
February 17th, 2015 at 5:00 PM ^
There are many legitimate criticisms of the prior coaching staff, but a lack of warmth and authenticity with players isn't one of them.
February 17th, 2015 at 5:08 PM ^
That's fair because she's not a member of the coaching staff per se.
But it does show the support of the athletic department is being fully used by Harbaugh this time around. Either because Brady and his staff didn't feel like a position like this was needed, or more likely because Brandon thought it wasn't needed, an opportunity was missed to make the environment around the team as first-class as possible.
I've been reading about the role Canham played in really helping to market and get revenue out of the Michigan sports programs, almost alone. His innovations now are fairly commonplace across all major D-I programs. Now we need an athletic department to focus back to developing student athletes and winning teams, and Mama G looks to be a great addition to the team.
February 17th, 2015 at 6:39 PM ^
that w/o Bo Schembechler's turnaround of the program, his moves would have been just gimmicks.
Boy did Canham know how to leverage the team that Schembechler put on the field, but Don knew he had to have something genuine to leverage.
February 17th, 2015 at 7:17 PM ^
I loved what he told Bo when he started, pretty much win right away or we'll both be out of a job.

Referring to the coaches and assistants but instead to the prior AD and his staff. An ombudswoman in the nature of Gwendolyn suddenly seems to make considerable sense.
Gwendolyn can function as a go-between among the coaches, players, academics, publicity and athletic director's office, and I believe she will nip many nascent problems in the bud before they can grow into pathologies like Clark and York. Gwendolyn can serve a broad range of previously unmet needs including by clearing the communications channels and addressing uncomfortable questions.
And so as an early critic of the purported hire I have come to whistle the opposite tune. This should prove to be an excellent hire, certainly potentially more helpful than the prior director of marketing who just departed. I presume Hackett was behind this one, and kudos to him if true.

Perfect description. Also like the hashtag "#HarbaughEffect" Everyone is working it.

can she run down her young charges? does she prefer corporal punishment over, say, mockery or embarrasment? what type of dating policy will she implement? please get on this...
February 17th, 2015 at 6:39 PM ^
Mama G isn't into corporal punishment. When you screw up, she just tells you that she isn't angry, she's just disappointed.
February 17th, 2015 at 5:18 PM ^
Elite Selfie game indeed. Brilliant hire

Sorry if this was covered before, but what exactly does she do? Everything I've seen suggests that she's visable, positive and social media savvy, but does she just stand around and shout out things like "C'mon Jabrill, quit dogging it. Mama G is watching!"
I think the whole idea of this is inherently genius, but I'm just trying to wrap my head around it.
Insert Office Space "What would you say you do here?" clip.

She's a people person, damn it.
