You'll probably get offered tickets, however, if you don't they usually offer you a package of tickets (3-4 games) every year until you actually get offered tickets.
When I was on the list in the early 2000's I was actually offered a full season minus homecoming for a couple years right before I got my tickets.

Wow, that's a great deal. I understand the ceremony associated with homecoming, but that's typically not a great game.

....unless RR is at the helm. Personally liked RR but traveling across the country for a homecoming loss or win a squeaker against IU was getting old.

In recent years, donating the minimum got you season tickets. I don't know whether Harbaugh excitement will change that this year - I'd guess interest level is definitely up, but not sure if it's enough to empty all the season tickets the AD is willing to sell or not. My guess is it might still be ok, but if your priority is making sure you actually get season tickets, then you might want to consider bumping it up a little.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Ive always wanted to get them, but never thought it'd be possible. I think this might be the time to get my foot in the door. I really thik there are some really good years ahead.

Last year a friend of mine who was a season ticket holder was offered additional season tickets from the university in the endzone for $455 per seat with a $75 PSD per seat. He offered those to me so now they're unofficially my season tickets.
Going forward though I have one of three options. I can continue to have them in his name and just keep paying him each season, I can pay $500 per seat to the university and get them in my name or I can possibly have him drop them and then attempt on my own to do what the OP is doing and gain season tickets that way by paying $150. The only thing with the third option is that we got placed in a pretty decent section/row so I would rather not lose that location. I was very happy with the placement.

Shouldn't be all that hard to get them on your own; plus you get the benefit of the priority points (consecutive year of season tickets, plus for the PSD "donations"), so if you ever want to upgrade or whatever, you're higher on the priority list.

Question: If I make the minimum donation this year, am I obligated to make that donation every year to remain on the waiting list? Or once I'm on am I on for good and at that point I can just donate more to increase my standing?

Unless the rules have changed, you have to donate every year to keep your priority points active till you are offered tickets. Then you pay your yearly seat donation based on seat location in the stadium.

I was on the Interest (Wait List back then) List for a couple years back in the mid 2000's. Back then I think you had to pay $10 a year to stay on the list. Finally after a couple years I received a letter (yes letter not some electronic bs) saying that I was eligble for Non Renewable seats. I got two tickets to all home games except for homecoming. I did this the first yeat and had tickets 4 rows off the field in the south corner section 19. The following year I received the same offer and had tickets in row 18 section 18 (about 8 or 9 rows behind super fan). The third year I was offered renewable seats and I have had the same seats since (Section 18 row 32 seats 9 & 10). I do not know if they still offer Non Renewable seats or not though. Remember that when I got my seats it was the RichRod era, there was not too many people on the Interest List.

The waitlist disappeared after the first RR season and hasn't reappeared since. The AD used to publish how much it took to get off the waitlist and receive season tickets each year, but they stopped after 2008. That year it was $1,500; the year following I donated the minimum and received tickets, which has been the case since. And it's unlikely that there will be a substantial waitlist in the future, even when ("if", for the pessimists) the team is successful again, because the AD now charges fair market value for tickets, including the PSD (which is to say, a lot), whereas in the past they sold them for way less than market value.

I just called the Victor's Club at one point and they told me the donation amount required to get off the wait list and to get season tickets. I can't remember the number...but something in the neighborhood of $1,500 sounds about right.
I would call the Athletic Department and simply ask them how much you need to donate to get season tickets. Its probably still pretty straightforward...

Pretty sure they intentionally no longer disclose that information in an effort to squeeze money out of people. If you go to mgoblue.com, in multiple places they still reference that 'in 2008 it took $1,500 to get off the waitlist, though this is a guide only and we dont' promise it will be similar in 2009+.' I find that really sketchy, but that's besides the point.
