Grant Perry has decommited from Northwestern

Submitted by BeatOSU52 on

After careful consideration & prayers, I have decommitted from Northwestern. I have great respect for NW and what they have done for me.

I was/am hoping for a guy who can be a deep threat since Canteen hasn't shown anything and Drake Harris is constantly injured. Perry isn't that guy, but I do think he can be a possession guy for Michigan and shake loose on some short routes, crossing routes, etc. I think someone like Perry is about what you can reasonably expect at this point with the coaching change and such, whereas getting someone like a Van Jefferson could be a significant recruiting win that might not happen without a rock star coaching hire.

I have never understood non-commitable offers.  If you offer a kid a scholarship, then they should have the right to commit whenever they want.  If it's a "you're next on the list if we miss on our other targets", then just call it that.  I mean, you are waitlisted at colleges, doesn't mean you can say you're going to the school yet.

Not gonna lie, I'd get a good chuckle out of it if he reaffirmed his commitment to NW. Something I probably would've done in HS just to mess with people and probably also why the good Lord never gave me any unique talent in, well, anything.

If one more reporter leaks a commitment I am going to lose my shit.  This recruiting cycle has been infuriating.
