I believe Higdon is their only RB commit (although you're spot on here - 20 RBs seems like an Iowa move), and in a seemingly un-Ferentz move, they've got 3-4 WRs in the class too so far, or so I last read. The notion of them perhaps not pitching it to a TE on at least every third play makes me wonder what is going on down there.

20 running backs, and a converted Tight End will still be getting all the carries by November.

Jim Harbaugh, you are a cold man for taking RB's from Iowa.  Of course, you probably just saved this kid from a career full of injuries.

I remember the thread about him from the other day. Congrats!

You think UM has a decent shot here? Especially considering that Iowa has been going nowhere over the past few years.

Everyone in the Big Ten has treated Michigan like shit the last seven or eight years.  It's time for Michigan to start returning a lot of favors.

I believe this school puts out an NFL player every 2-3 years on average, and this kid is the best of the bunch this year. Plus, he's smart and would probably come here with a chip on his shoulder from being a last-minute recruit... just the way Harbaugh likes ' em. Good... good.

The sarasota/manatee area has produce numerous quality college and pro players. There is a large alumni presence. Yet, UM has not recruited the area -- even when it was suggested to the previous staff. Harbaugh was here at IMG and knows Taggert well. Maybe this is the start of something. If Taggert does not work out at USF, I think Harbaugh may hire him and further increase UM's presence here.

I don't buy the article. He's going to have to say a quote about being all Hawkeyes to prevent backlash from Iowa's staff and fanbase. I know the OP is a big UM fan, but he also seems like a legit guy who wouldn't do all this leg work and waste his player's time if there was no hope for a change. He would also be severing his relationship w/ Harbaugh if he sent a kid up there who had no interest in flipping.

With that kind of academic record, though, I'm surprised he ever decided on Iowa. They're not terrible, but even my current grad school classmates say they regret having gone there because of the lack of academic prestige.

Right after he got the offer he said he wasnt coming to Michigan and was sticking with his commitment to Iowa. Even with Harbaugh there is a struggle to get guys to come to michigan who have been committed to other schools for a while.
