Coach Harbaugh's new Twitter page is racking up the followers

Submitted by snarling wolverine on

As of 10:45 p.m. Friday his Twitter page, created in the afternoon, had 91,100 followers.  He is already one of the 10 most-followed coaches in the NCAA.  The only coaches ahead of him:

170K Urban Meyer

159K Butch Jones

153K Les Miles

149K Mark Richt

121K Brian Kelly

107K Bret Bielema

107K Gus Malzahn

96.2K Bo Pelini

94.1K James Franklin

It's only a matter of time before IT HAPPENS and Jim takes over the top spot, I'm sure.

**11:00 a.m. UPDATE: 100K!

I'm not sure what's crazier; the fact that JH has 91,000 followers already, or the fact that all of his followers could sit inside Michigan Stadium comfortably.

Not that it's really important or anything, but if a coach uses a twitter account I feel like it makes them seem more down to earth believe it or not. As long as they're the one actually tweeting (and don't have an assistant doing it), I think it makes them seem like more of a real person and not just a face.

3 of the top 5 guys have Michigan (the state) ties - Butch, Les, Kelly.  Soon to be 4 of the top 6. We are just a warm and friendly people, people want to be associated with.  Well it doesn't explain Kelly but...

There really needs to be a FauxLes account; he and FauxPelini would have some battles.

I basically have a dormant twitter account, but I followed him today. Michigan fans are so Taylor Swift right now. Jimmy name is squarely in our blank space. Don't ever think about leaving, Coach.

I haven't gone through all the comments on this post but a couple of sites are reporting that the coach from Kentucky, Marrow, has been offered a job by JH. Anyone else hear about this yet?
