Did we see the same game?
I just saw on the ESPN "The Lead" ticker that Michigan was "run over" by Ohio State. Yeah, we lost by two scores but I thought it was a well contested game. We were in the 4th quarter and had a reasonable chance to win the game. Defense played a respectable game and the offense was able to move the ball. We failed to put the ball in the endzone, and had turnover problems. Did I see a different game than the folks at ESPN? Do you all think we were run over?

Yes, I was there, Tressel ran the ball, cause he knew that no matter what he called we couldn't stop it. It was pathetic, bring back Moeller. I just want a win against OSU, we are a pathetic program now!

It hints at the fact that OSU almost solely ran the ball to win the game. Not that Michigan got killed. Although it can easily be misinterpreted.

As for the OP: I agree. This stuff ticks me off but the national media has to cover everybody where we can focus on one team. Ever since the allegations, I am very weary of National media. For instance, I actually was very skeptical about the Mangino issue this week because I know how distorted the Michigan allegations became by the national media. They little take a story and run with it.

Some guys whose job it is to come up with headlines and who didn't watch the game just looked at the final game stats, saw that OSU racked up more than twice as many rushing yards as we did and won by two scores and went with that. Now last week at Wisconsin, on the other hand...

Seems like the media has had it out for Michigan. They can all pretty much go to hell because we actually played a decent game and why would they continue to kick a Program in the balls when it's down. Especially when its Michigan. Michigan and its past success represents all that is good in college football, winning. Being the winningest program does bring certain scrutiny, but where's the respect? I can't wait until we make everyone eat their worthless-moronic words 2 years from now when we win it all!

Jesse Palmer actually defended UM during the halftime show when he said the offense is leaps and bounds ahead of last year, and that is with a freshman QB. He pleaded for patience and time. I think ESPN likes to sell sports in little chunks, and the easy storyline is UM lost and lets drum up some controversy for Mark May and Lou Holtz to stumble through next week.

Not just Jesse Palmer - from watching the game and post-game coverage, it seemed like everyone ESPN had working the game thought that the team had improved, and that firing Rodriguez now would be stupid.

OSU: 257 rushing yards, 67 passing yards v. UM, if OSU didn't "run over" UM, I don't know what other sweet double entendre to use.

you're not running over anyone when your offense produced only 14 points. Fourteen points after five turnovers is even worse.

They got 18 first downs, but we got 16; they had 318 net yards, but we had 309. Yeah, they rushed for 251 yards, but that doesn't mean they 'ran over' the team. We we passed for 229, what does that say about us? You take away the turnovers and we had an excellent chance to win this game.

ESPN can lick a fat turd. I could not tune into the game today; My mom's commencement was today. But I was getting play by updates on my phone and I must say that judging from the box score, this game was far from an ass thrashing. I don't know whose worse ESPN or those douches that root for OSU. Nobody is allowed to play the what if game if their team loses by a small margin. We're told that a loss is a loss; suck it up. But since the almighty Suckeyes didn't annihilate UM, all kinds of excuses come up. Too many dropped passes. TP had a hemorrhoid. The quarters are too short. STFU!! The truth of the matter is, UM moved the ball, but had too many turnovers. This was Iowa all over again. Turnovers did those guys in, and nothing more. But since they want to play the what if game, I wonder what would have happened if they had no turnovers, and if the Tasmanian Devil and Carlos Brown were both healthy. Hell, I wondered what would have happened if these guys were 100% the whole damn season.
