Get the Red Out

Submitted by M-Wolverine on

I'm had it. I'm sick of going into a Stadium 30-40% OSU. If you're in the Stadium, and the people next to you sold their tickets, and did it to an opposing fan, it's time we stood up and said enough.

Tell him what seats were improperly and illegally sold, and sold to the other team. Time for some new people to come into the Stadium, shorten the waiting list, and get the poor fans out. We shouldn't have to put up with it for being loyal and honest. Let the powers that be know, and let them start doing their job of enforcement.

The university needs to put some policies in place to restrict the number of opposing fans who get tickets to our games.

You would NEVER in a million years see that much maize in Columbus, so why is that much red tolerated in the Big House?

I can handle the sections that are set aside for OSU. Big Ten sets that policy. Just because OSU fans scoop them up while M fans can't because we have to risk our lives to go down there, I can live with that. It's the salt and peppering of fans through all the other sections. High paying sections, down to the student section. (I verbally lambasted a female student I know who I found out got rid of her ticket...as Jamie Morris would say, lose my number).

And on that, could the students who find it in them to complain about all the other fans and blue hairs in the Stadium maybe find a way to show up, you know, BEFORE the game starts? It continues to be an embarrassment.

As upset as I am about this game I am more upset about the airshots of the stadium and minus the student section you would think it was neutral site game. I am embarresed of the way that looked. You are right on blue_shift NEVER EVER EVER would the shoe or happy valley or the swamp or death valley etc... allow this. Unacceptable and a complete shame. These fucking half ass fans who allowed osu fans to buy their tickets should be banned from the stadium. I would have dumped my girlfriend and sacraficed my first born to have the worst seats for that game. I don't know what the fuck is going on with most of this so called fanbase but I am disgusted. I wonder how the recruits enjoyed seeing a red sea of a big house. I am furious about the game, but a thousand times more upest and raged about all the red. I just can't understand how any Michigan fan with tickets could not go to the game, much less sell the tickets to fucking buckeye fans.

i was on stub hub during the wk and saw all the tickets for sale. this happens when you have a stadium with 110k capacity. would this happen to osu? who knows bc they haven't had this sort of season in a looong time. i was happy for our team today and thought they played pretty decent (a frosh qb with those turnover is not surprising). i have a tremendous amt of hope for next yr. btw, i am a huge fan of vincent smith. i think this kid is the future. he may not have top end speed but he's quick, elusive and surprisingly strong. i'm all in and will be extremely disappointed if they fire coach rod. go blue.

In previous games the number of opponents in the student section was appalling. This time round, the students were the ones who actually showed up. Sure, there were a few buckeyes, but in general the blue hairs and alumni were the ones at fault for all the red in the stadium.

It's sad that the fan base can't even come out in support of their team during The Game.

Tell him what seats were improperly and illegally sold, and sold to the other team.

You know that won't accomplish anything, right? You have no proof that the tickets were sold illegally - for all you know, they were presented as a gift or were transferred from one person to another.

Obviously, that's not the case for the vast majority of cases, but without any kind of evidence, you're fighting a losing battle.

There are a few other issues with your plan, like the assumption that people sit in the seats that actually belong to them, or that the athletic department has the resources to hunt down thousands of people who possibly violated the ticket rules to punish them.

I'm a 1995 grad and have been on the waiting list for tickets for 14 years!!! I used to be offered partial season ticket plans, but they did away with that when they went to the seat licensing. I'd love to move up that waiting list and keep my tickets if they'd only find a way to weed out these people that give up their tickets to Buckeyes. That's ridiculous.

I don't get the people who bring their tuos buddy to the game...
If they don't take you to their stadium, don't bring them to ours. Some asshat in section 38 had a I'm not with her sign, it wasn't funny, keep that shit at home.

say that richrod just gave up on the players and that's why they aren't playing well. it's glaringly obvious after today who has given up on the players

I guess I just got lucky in section 35, but it didn't seem like there was that much more of an OSU presence than any other visiting team would have...

Why stop at the stadium?

Did anybody take a walk around the Blue Lot today? TONS of OSU tailgates. It's like this every week, especially for MSU, ND, and OSU weeks.

People selling their parking passes with their tickets, and selling them to away fans... To think these people donated thousands of dollars to get their tickets and parking passes.

What happens next year when the Blue Lot is mostly luxury box people who (likely) won't be tailgating? That lot is going to be empty and dead, just like the Champion's Club lot right by the Crisler tunnel.

I got two OSU tickets. I was hoping my friend to come to AA and watch the Game with me. He has been a huge Michigan fan but never attends an OSU Game in big house before. Unfortunately, early this week, he told me he can't make the trip so I decided to sell my pair of tickets because I don't want to go alone. So I put a post on the craiglist, and what the most shocking thing to me is there are many OSU fans asking for them and are willing to pay a high price for it. I struggled. Eventually, on Thursday, I decided to keep the tickets and called another friend to go with me.

When we got to the big house, we were shocked that there were so many OSU fans in the stadium. I instantly realized that I made the right choice. Although the lose is hard to swallow, but the experience was great, this is one of the best game I have ever been to. So, please please don't sell your tickets to our opponent's fans, particularly OSU, ND, MSU, PSU, Wisconsin... Yes, our team is not doing good, but that's why you go out there and support them.

I have several season ticket in the Big House. Whenever, I can not use my tickets, I also tell people that THOSE ARE MY TICKETS represent them well. I think we should be responsible for those using our tickets. I never give tickets to the opposition.

Sorry but you don't have control over what other people do. I'm gonna bring my buddy to the game and I have no problem with him rooting for OSU. There are more important things in life that what team someone roots for. I enjoy hanging out with him and if I have an extra ticket and I wanna give it to him I will.

The reason you don't see as many Blue fans in Columbus is they have been winning and demand for their tickets is higher. Michigan needs to start winning and the demand for tickets will increase.

Yes there might be more important things in life then who you root for, but on that 3rd weekend in november, diffrent rules apply. my best friend is a osu fan, his dad an alum, and his gramps played for that shit hole. 364 days a year he is like family to me, but on that 365th day i would stab him in the back with a lightsaber before i let him wear scarlet into my sanctuary.

First, the example is of people who obviously sold their tickets. It's not a couple of buddies at the game. I would expect you keep your friend in line if he got too obnoxious. But the vast majority of those red filled seats were not one blue, one red, and you know it.

And your reason may be a sign why people are selling their tickets up here (a shitty reason, but a reason), but the opposite is nonsense. The reason more fans don't go down there is because it's such a threatening, disgusting environment that why would anyone WANT to? The opposite isn't true for OSU fans up here.

But then, I expect your buddy to return the favor, and take you down to a game next year, and you'll take him up on it, right?

And if the only friend you have to take to a game is a Buckeye...well, maybe you probably shouldn't really have tickets in the first place...
