Recruits Cheer Request (Tony Jefferson)

Submitted by Stewart52 on

Alright so Tony Jefferson is here already, and like I said in this post* I know a guy who knows him.

Anyway I saw Tony at the basketball game tonight and texted my friend, and apparently he and Tony talked for quite a while over the phone.

Pretty much Tony said that he's pumped for the game, and he has no idea what to expect out of such a big rivalry game. My friend jokingly said he was going to get a Tony Jefferson cheer going, and Tony said something to the extent of "No way. That would be sick. No way."

So pretty much I will be trying as hard as I can to get a Tony Jefferson cheer going, and cheers for all the recruits, because that leaves an extremely good impression on them. If all of you MGoWolverines could help out/cheer too if you hear a chant going, chant along and try to get other people into it too!

For the record I'm Jar Jar Binx in the star wars troupe. If you see me trying to start the chant, help out.

Let's use that energy and worry about leaving an "extremely good impression" on those who already put on the maize and blue and especially those who will be playing the last time in front of us in the Big House.

That's ridiculous Zonereadstretch. We should have more threads and front page stuff about recognizing recruits and thanking them for coming/cheering them on than less. So many recruiting articles talk about how impressed recruits are when we recognize them. 20 or 30 people who are aware of a recruit and think of a cool cheer for that guy is way more impacting than those same 20 or 30 yelling "Go Blue". If you are near any recruit at all help pump him up because this is going to be a huge weekend for us in the future if everything works out.

Zonereadstetch. Cheer more for the guys that are already here especially those that may be suiting up for the last time in the maize and blue (hopefully not!).

However, I was also at the bball game tonight, and did not notice any cheers for the recruits there. It looked like there were probably about 10-15 guys there. It would have been nice to let them know our interest but alas.

Please hold off on cheering for recruits until we get a wave going. Yeah, I know, this isn't going to be a wave sort of game. BUT, if we get lucky enough to be up in the 2nd half and have so much momentum and positive energy that we don't even need to watch the game and can worry about perfect wave execution, then I want to suck up to those recruits.

I'll feel bad for whatever recruits don't get their own cheer though. That'll be a self-esteem killer.

i am pretty sure that jar jar binks shouting my name would produce the opposite of your intended result. i am not sure who all is in your "troupe", but there has to be someone else you can be. anyone would be better, even the fat guy that gets blown up, or admiral piett or commander tarkin.

as thin as we are on D, i'd go cheer a recruits name in a supermarket parking lot, while he's eating his cap'n crunch, or mowing his grandma's lawn. I mean have u seen our defense? Seriously, I want us to win more than anyone today, but this is the last game of THIS season, so hell yeah cheer the recruits names!
I mean this is sad to say, but the most important thing for today is to get these kids to come to UM, so we won't be a double digit dog at home to tOSU. I would like to hear a BI-IG TEX CLAP CLAP CLAPCLAPCLAP. I don't think it is creepy to show these kids how they would be supported by the fans if they choose BLUE.
