CC: Cowherd Claim Discredited

Submitted by Geaux_Blue on
The Saturday "you'll know then" claim has passed (except for a news break in the next 40 mins). The Bill Belicheck Tweet was a defective attempt at mockery to play on his "anytime someone overreacts to one of my claims they're just an overreacting nerd" schtick.

Stop reacting to instant news claims. It's easier to wait until something trends than to force belief into every claim from every source.

We'll have a coach. Probably during the dead period. Not Tuesday. Aaron Rodgers R-E-L-A-X time

Wait you're saying a shithead national radio host might have been bullshitting? Surely you jest.

Seriously why did anyone think Colin Cowherd was more clued in than, say, Sam Webb?

He said weekend... I'm guessing it's Stoops.. w/e at this point. I'm just tired of watching great football teams without Michigan being one of them.

Clearly, they have been looking to make a big splash after all - despite our best efforts, nobody could find enough on this Gill Helichick dude to post a coherent CC thread. We did allow every oppotunity for information to emerge, of course, just to be fair, but no one could confirm Cowherd's assertion and it later turned out to be cow dung anyeay.

Colin Cowherd having a radio and television career, or really any career outside of yelling at strippers while trying to double up on the lunch buffet, continues to boggle my mind.  Nobody with two brain cells to rub together should EVER take him seriously.

Here's all you need to know about Colin Cowherd.

This is from Dave Dameshek's former podcast, Daves of Thunder. He's on the phone with Dave Feeney, the co-host (the tone of the podcast is these two guys ribbing each other, fyi. They go back and forth in the beginning). If you don't know Dameshek, he's a goofy Pittsburgher who now works for NFL Network. He's exceptionally funny at what he does.

Anyway, he used to work for ESPN and had the "privilege" of meeting Cowherd. It was...bizarre. Here's what he had to say:

it has to have some supposed credibility to start with. Cowherd's claim was such obvious bullshit that it didn't need "discrediting," except for the naive, gullible saps who took it seriously.

He did an outstanding job of getting Michigan fans all over the Internet to obsess over him for a few days. We had like 8 threads in which he was the subject in a single day at one point.

As I actually enjoy his show even if he is a tool. He puts on a good show everyday, IMO.

He did say this weekend so we have tomorrow right? But I bet nothing gets out. So I am pretty disappointed in him.

Cowherd is a useless talking head. The fact that anyone believed him is mind-boggling. I just don't understand how people can listen to that guy, let alone fall for his schtick

He said it will come out during the weekend. It's still the weekend so it can happen tomorrow. I don't think it will, but Sunday is still the weekend, right?

It's incredible to me that people like Colin Cowherd have jobs in national sports media.  What exactly is the qualification?  Being an insufferable douche who trolls fanbases?

The worst part for me was that I went in a meeting in Miami when he said it, so I didn't hear it, but I saw it on here. Unfortunately I also misinterpreted what I read (since I couldn't read on account of the traffic), and called my dad in Ohio to ask him to switch the TV to ESPN because there was a rumor that we had a coach. Nothing. What a douche. And I was thinking, "How the hell would Cowherd know?" Yet, I still called. Ugh...

Edit: I glanced at it while waiting for my car. I was NOT reading while driving in Miami traffic.

A post or two back, Brian had Carr and Harbaugh trying to put things on the mend. Then an article comes out a few days later with Carr proclaiming Harbaugh as his top choice. That seems to me to be fairly strong evidence that sump'in going on. I mean it was an ice field for years and years between them, right? Why work that out now unless there was a reason?

Unless that was all bunk and they made amends years ago. But if not... that seems a pretty strong indicator to me.

Why is this a post?  We knew on Friday it was fake.  At least I thought most people did when Cowherd said, "although his name rhymes w Till Zellicheck".  You really waited all day today to see what the name was?
