Official Brady Hoke Thank You Posbang
Regardless of what happens to Brady Hoke, it cannot be denied that he loves Michigan and gave 100%. I speak for MGoBlog when I wish him the best of luck in the future, wherever he is. Let's get some posbang mojo going here.
Thanks for your commitment to M coach Hoke.
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:06 AM ^
Why do you think that you speak for Mgoblog?
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:20 AM ^
I know. I didn't vote for him to be the voice of MGoBlog. Very presumptuous on his part.
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:22 AM ^
so you don't wish hoke the best of luck. if so, you kinda suck.
December 2nd, 2014 at 8:17 AM ^
to grossly fail at his job and set our school/team back another half decade.
I don't understand this whole "oh poor Brady Hoke" mentality. He's going to make more in his severance package than I likely will in my lifetime. I don't feel an ounce of pity for him and he can get the fuck out.
December 2nd, 2014 at 8:35 AM ^
"oh poor Brady Hoke" in the OP. The thread is about appreciation for his hard work and dedication to Michigan, which I would think everyone would agree with.
If you want to start your own "...he can get the fuck out" thread, go for it. I don't really see the point.
December 2nd, 2014 at 8:53 AM ^
Agree. Thank you, Brady.
December 2nd, 2014 at 8:51 AM ^
Yes, he has money, so how could he possibly be unhappy? How could anyone suffer when they have lots of money? What else might someone want in life besides money?
Ha!
December 2nd, 2014 at 9:03 AM ^
The fact that he has money and is too stupid to get seriously depressed bodes well for his future.
December 2nd, 2014 at 10:06 AM ^
You need to take some time off - he was left with a mess and this program has not been set back another 5 years. The roster is in better shape than when he found it - he also beat ohio and msu for the first time since 2003 & 2007. Oh yeah, they did win the Sugar Bowl, but that's probably far too insignificant for you.
I guarantee you wouldn't have the guts to say that to his face.
December 2nd, 2014 at 10:07 AM ^
Set our team back another decade?
The roster is in MUCH better shape at the moment than it was when Hoke took over.
The record wasn't good enough, but jesus can you please lose the freaking hyperbole.
December 2nd, 2014 at 9:00 AM ^
Thread doesn't say to wish him the best of luck, it says to say thank you. I'm not saying thank you for the terrible job Hoke did.
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:40 AM ^
Don't blame me I voted for McFarlin
December 2nd, 2014 at 7:43 AM ^
I voted for WD, but that was before he got a million MGo points and became Wolverine Cocky (or is it Wolverine Arrogance???).
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:41 AM ^
He said that he speaks for mgoblog in wishing BH the best in his future endeavors. Are you saying that you want him to fail post Michigan? That sounds exactly like the people who wanted RR to fail at arizona and I hated that.
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:50 AM ^
Is it really hard to comprehend that random posters don't just get to claim to speak for the blog at large?
The "Official" tag is also unwarranted.
But I appreciate the guy's sentiment. Hoke seems swell.
December 2nd, 2014 at 7:31 AM ^
Is you say this so clearly, yet some still don't understand...
If this thread is titled Brady Hoke "Thank You" Posbang (even though Posbang isn't needed either) --- I don't think it rubs people the wrong way.
In the OP all you have to say is "For those who wish to post a thank you or encouraging words towards Coach Hoke."
This is also premature. I've been told by someone I trust that it's official (he's gone). But I don't make a thread about it and I would assume you'd save the "Thank you posbang" just like you'd save the "It's happened! He's gone! Hoke's Out! Posbang" for AFTER the announcement.
Nonetheless, just don't call something official unless it is. And don't speak for a bunch of people who literally post on the blog so that they may speak for themselves.
December 2nd, 2014 at 9:06 AM ^
Yes. I don't care if people wish Hoke well or not, the fact is, nothing has happened yet.
(-1) Cart before the horse.
December 2nd, 2014 at 9:20 AM ^
This makes me wish that Hoke gets retained, just to chagrin those dancing on his grave. (Well, not really retained, because of ... 2012-2014. But you get my point.)
December 2nd, 2014 at 9:18 AM ^
I have "adopted" AZ as my "other" team to cheer for this year. It's been a lot more fun than watching Michigan games. Hopefully, the 2015 turns into a great year in Ann Arbor.
December 2nd, 2014 at 9:34 AM ^
My 'other' team went 2-10 this year. So, yeah. I'm probably just bad luck.
December 2nd, 2014 at 1:10 AM ^
Thank you coach for brining in these solid recruiting classes. I am really looking forwards to watching Jabrill Peppers play in the future.
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:07 AM ^
Wish things could have worked out better. Probably shouldn't be speaking in past tense seen as how he still is the Head Coach of the University of MIchigan Football Team.
If he is let go of his duties, I'm looking forward to reading Brian's send-off post assuming there is one.
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:12 AM ^
*the J. Ira and Nicki Harris Family Head Football Coach.
December 2nd, 2014 at 7:37 AM ^
It didn't work out...but it was hope.
Also, "this is Michigan"
December 2nd, 2014 at 8:22 AM ^
And clapping fergodsakes.

You have your own problems with Kelly.

Seems like this should happen tomorrow....

that while very likely it's not in any way a done deal that he's absolutely gone. In fact, I'll repeat that unless Hackett has more than a hunch about who the next coach is the timing is equally valid to retain him as it is to fire him/let him "resign". AGAIN, I think he's gone but not so sure that I'm even assuming it. The worst possible scenario is dumping Hoke and the staff with NO IDEA who the hire will be right now. Not even a short list where you know one of them will take the job. Think about that! The reasons most say we have to fire him ASAP (public image, HC named and working, recruiting, etc) are the same to retaining him ASAP. I think he's gone but I do not rule out retention with Hackett demanding a staff overhaul of almost everyone. Hackett's "big hire" may be a guy like Wheatley and/or an OL guru, giving Wheatley an Associate HC title? Why is this a possibility, even ever so small? The next coach, whether hired this Winter, a year or three from now HAS TO BE A HOMERUN. The next "rebuild" cannot fail if we wish to merely hold onto the cache we've earned over a hundred years. Minds & hearts change faster and faster these days. I have young family that are msu fans because they've never seen a good UM team despite family alums and across the board fandom in my immediate & extended family. osu fans are creeping into SE MI at an alarming rate, etc. Michigan isn't the biggest of the very few games in town anymore. Every team is on TV now. Baylor is a power, Oregon is a power. Boise went from a laughing stock to juggernaut under a decade! Parity is everywhere and having tins of money doesn't mean what it used to. We have great facilities that didn't help the team win and a giant stadium that looks sad when it's even 10% empty, let alone attendance this year. THE NEXT HIRE HAS TO BE A HOMERUN. If another year of Hoke ensures we don't gamble on 4 years of some cast off hire, we take a mulligan and hope for better options next year. I can see that train of thought and would mean we were quietly turned down (at least for the moment) by the guys we wanted. It could happen. Possibly but, again, unlikely, IMO.
December 2nd, 2014 at 4:13 AM ^
OK, three thoughts on your paragraph:
1) Retaining Hoke, regardless of reason, would be a big mistake.
2) I don't recall anyone considering Boise St. a "laughing stock", mostly because hardly anyone even had heard of them over a decade ago.
3) Paragraphs, my friend, are our friend. Especially to someone waking and trying to read at this time in the morning.
December 2nd, 2014 at 7:12 AM ^
We all want the next coach to be a home run. But the fact remains that an automated clapping machine could probably get us the same amount of wins as Hoke next year. There is nothing that states the next coach must be here forever. Even one bandaid year to stop the bleeding from a recruiting and institutional competence standpoint would be better than keeping Hoke. Great guy no doubt, but just imagine the hot seat for next year. Next year we have a large class coming in and while Hoke has proven to be a good recruiter in the past, that time is over. Time to move forward.

That's news to me. The 2015 class is very small especially with the decommits. The only way next year's class is large is if there's a shit ton of transfers and the new coaches have to scrape together a whole bunch of new guys late on the gsme. Not likely.
December 2nd, 2014 at 9:48 AM ^
yes, next year as in 2016 recruiting wise. The 2015 is a small class. Which mitigates the damage that this shitshow of a season can cause. My point is we only lose 2015 and the new guy will have a 20 plus recruiting class for 2016. If we retain Hoke, then we lose 2015 and 2016.
December 2nd, 2014 at 10:14 AM ^
>an automated clapping machine could probably get us the same amount of wins as Hoke next year.
You are delusional.
December 2nd, 2014 at 10:52 AM ^
We lost to Maryland at home bro.
Without Diggs.
On Senior day.
In Year 4.
Maryland!
December 2nd, 2014 at 8:13 AM ^
What makes you think that we have a better chance of hiring a home run next year instead of this year? And if we did keep Hoke on, do we then not fire him next year if we don't have a big time coach lined up? At some point you have just get rid of the guy in charge and figure it out from there. We have reached that point already.
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:21 AM ^
This seems a little premature but thanks for the memories.
December 2nd, 2014 at 10:04 AM ^
There are some memories I'd rather forget...
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:11 AM ^
Save this for after he is fired plz.
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:10 AM ^
Thanks Brady!
I know we're all disappointed in the team and in Brady as a coach, but there is no denying it is a really tough job. I'm pretty sure I would fail if I tried to run a college football program, and I bet that's true for most of us MGoBloggers. We have every right to demand better, but I'm still grateful for the time and effort that BH, GM, etc put into the program.
Thanks and Go Blue!

Great guy, with an unmatched passion for Michigan, fergodsakes.
I'll never forget that press conference, and his ability to keep players from transferring.
December 2nd, 2014 at 4:22 AM ^
Agreed, I was so confident we had our guy after that initial presser.
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:12 AM ^
Thanks Brady. I'm sure you are reading this. I'm sorry I ruined your lives and crammed 11 cookies in the VCR.
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:14 AM ^
I vote to bronze his headset in solemn memor...er, my bad. Could we at least sculpt a marble pointing finger??? Thanks coach.
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:33 AM ^
Thanks for the photo op coach!
All joking aside, he's a good man and a hell of a football coach -- when he is handling defensive linemen. Good luck to Coach Hoke in whatever he does moving forward, because as has been stated many times, he is a good man who loves this University and is more upset than anyone that he couldn't get it done here.
December 2nd, 2014 at 2:32 AM ^
This picture proves one thing for sure...I would not mess with you Mgomaha.
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:17 AM ^
Michigan man until the end he loves this program and he loves this university. Its too bad it didnt work out. Hope he ends up at a great program would be nice to match up against his team wherever he ends up
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:18 AM ^
Not to be a dick, but I honestly can't think of one thing to thank him for. What about the BBQ, was that Hoke or RichRod? If it's Hoke, thanks for that because that seems like a cool tradition.
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:19 AM ^
Nope. That was RichRod.
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:22 AM ^
11 of his wins were RichRod, as well.
December 2nd, 2014 at 12:28 AM ^
Those wins won't show up on RR's stats. I wonder if they will for Hoke, oh wait...yep
