Sorta OT: Ever named your kid or pet after something U of M related

Submitted by Joshisbowler on

Has anyone on here ever named their kid or pet after a player or coach or anything U of M related?  My wife and I just got a puppy and named her Maizie Blu.  Knowing how things have been around here lately I just wanted to have a little fun with this one.

This is only my second time posting on here so I apoligize if I have any grammer or spelling errors.  Go Blue

Named my dog "Little Brown Jug" growing up.  Called him "Jugs" for short.  Mom figured out what that meant (Hint: it wasn't a college football trophy) and the dog had to get a new name.

We got a yellow lab mix a couple years ago. Her fur looks like toasted coconut, so we named her Coconut. My wife said about a month after she started recognizing her name that we could have called her maize because of her breed. Strategic information placement...

Whenever I finally get a dog, I want to name it Lloyd. I just really enjoy dogs with non-dog names. Also, he can have two different names depending on his behavior. Does something smart/morally sound, he's Lloyd Carr. Does something dumb like peeing on the carpet, he's Lloyd Christmas.

My uncle adopted his son when he was only months old. Some where under the age of one, can't remember exactly. He named him Braylon. Obviously, we all know where that came from.

My wife and I got two Himalayan cats when we graduated/married back in 1997. White one named Marty after Turco and gray one named Lloyd after Carr. Both brought us a national title. I would be glad to go out and buy some more pets...thought I was going to have to head over to Humane society to pick up a cat or dog to name Trey a couple years ago...dang!

My daughter is named Victoria - my wife and I couldn't agree on a name until we saw an ad for Motts... the 'Little Victors' led to the name Victoria as a joke which turned real. She wouldn't let me go as far as doing Hailey Victoria.

Kid was born at Motts too.

Edit: The best part is that my wife is a MSU alum (doctorate) that hates MSU and loves Michigan (through my influence, she's from California).
