What a win will mean to you?!

Submitted by GoMBlue on

Not only will it be great to have the extra game where we can watch our '09 wolverine. But what else will a win mean to you?

A permanent weeekend smile?
Flying the michigan flag in your yard a few weeks longer?

it will mean a big step forward for richrod and our program. it will mean a lot of momentum going into next season. and most importantly, it will mean a bowl game and that extra month of practice.

It'll mean that, for the first time in my Marching Band Career, I'll actually get to go to a bowl game and be somewhere warm (or Detroit) for my winter break.

Also, it means I'll be in a good mood for at least 6 months

A win means I can run up and down the hall of my dorm screaming at the top of my lungs (Which I actually intend to do)

Mere words cannot describe the excitement I would feel. It certainly would feel like Christmas on Nov 21st.

It means I can finally breathe that sigh of relief. I can finally have that elusive joyful experience that I have only dreamed about for the last few years. How I hope it can happen.

Btw, that can easily be a high schooler talking about losing his virginity in American Pie 14: Band Practice.

We dont want 6 in a row. This hurts every year to our core insides.

Someone has to stop OSU and the Evil Vest Empire.

It must Happen. Iowa had a chance last week, got conservative and blew it. PSU was completely overmatched and out coached.

This is RRs shot to make an impact....the players have to step up and for once, particularly on defense...play within themselves and within the scheme.

It will mean validation for sinking innumerable hours into tracking this team. Validation for investing myself so much in how they do. And that validation? It will taste better and feel sweeter than anything I have known in quite a while.

For me, it means that the $40,000+ in tuition loans I have to pay back were all worth it. I've been waiting 5 oh too long years. Hell, if they win, I'll be so happy that I'll even opt out of my deferment period and accrue so much interest that I'll be buried in debt until I'm 50...

...but it'll be oh so worth every cent.

Not having to hear my relatives who are tOSU fans brag every time I see them ...

It will mean me seeing Michigan beat a Big Ten team at the stadium for the first time since Minnesota in 2007 (losses include Illinois, Ohio State, and Michigan State)

It will mean that a senior class for Michigan finally gets to celebrate beating the Buckeye's

It'll mean telling Boren where he can shove his family values and the way he threw his old teammates under the bus (because the values weren't just about the coaching staff)

It will mean a bowl game (albeit the Pizza Pizza bowl or something) and a chance for Michigan to end the season above .500

It will mean joining in a rousing chorus of ... The Victors will 100000+ of my "closest" friends

It will mean no rioting in celebration in Columbus (oh, there will be rioting)

It might even mean that ol' Sparty still finished with the same record as their older brother when they should have been much, much better this year.

It will mean that the first steps toward making this a war again will be taken

Go Blue!!!

Living in Ohio, a win would mean a lot to me. Most of my buddies are buckeyes so I could just flash them a nice shit eating grin. Oh, and I can actually spend a Saturday afternoon in peace and solitude.

As I was reading the posts I was trying to figure out what it would all mean to me. It is hard to put something like this into words.

For the past 2 seasons I have found it difficult being a fan of UM. All the critics blasting us at every turn, the transfers, RR haters, ALL the losses.....it has just been tough (as I am sure it has been for everyone here).

When RR was hired it signified (at least to me) a new start and bright future for UM. I knew there would be growing pains but I had faith it would happen. The process has taken longer than I had hoped (in spite of it not being unexpected, hope kind of raised my expectations) and the transition has been hard to watch at times.

At the beginning of the year I was hopeful of a good season. I thought that our schedule had no games that were absolute losses and we had a legitimate chance in each game. It hasn't really played out that way and it has been disappointing. We won most of the games we should have won (which is good), but we haven't been witness to any stunning upsets which has been a disappointment to me.

A win this week would show us all (and college football as a whole) that there is good reason for hope. It would kill the agonizing streak we have against OSU and give our seniors something to hang their hat on when they look back at their careers. It would also completely erase all the heartache we have endured over the past two years and remind us all why we love our wolverines so much.

It would also make me the happiest I have been in a really long time.

For me, personally, it wouldn't mean much either way.

...Except for being HAPPY AS HELL for Brandon Minor, Brandon Graham and the seniors to finally get that big win.
