The saddest part is no buzz for UM/OSU

Submitted by iawolve on

Just three years ago, there as a damn countdown clock on ESPN. Now, it is just a noon fill on ABC with buzz only on our boards. Obviously, we did not keep up our side of the bargain by letting it get lopsided and then face planting the last two years, but man this is weird. I don't have any trash talk in my inbox, no texts or vmails like years past. The only calls I have gotten are from Iowa fans asking if we could try to make a game of it and luck out a win to help their bowl positioning. Not really a confidence boost. It is bitchy and whiny, but the only thing I have ever known is this being "the" rivalry. If I had been able to remember any different, maybe my perception of this would change.

Well, we haven't held up our end of the bargin. 8 wins in 2 years won't exactly get the national media all hyped up about the game. If Michigan can get back to being Michigan, then the Game will become what it's all about again.

Well said. I feel no different this week heading into the game then I did for Purdue, Illinois, and Wiscy. We have to become competitive again witht he bottom of the Big-10 before we can talk about a rivalry with the top of the Big-10.

It's not getting the national spotlight, but it is still dominating my thoughts this week. Hopefully we can make a game of it. If not, it might be still a little while before we beat them. Don't like our chances in their place next year.

It will help RR with the "no respect" and "us against the world" angles. Nobody thinks UM has a chance in this game except the people in the locker room. And that is when they are the most dangerous.

I've got more buzz than a basket full of vibrators right now, and it is only Tuesday. Who gives a rat's ass what ESPN has to say about THE GAME? I just spent five minutes thinking about how many Miller High Life's I need to put down before kickoff to be at optimum fan level, then took the next five minutes to daydream about big plays by The Blue (namely Minor breaking three or four tackles on a 40+ yard TD run while I dry hump the bar in absolute bliss).

Anybody who has ever been to a game in that snake-pit in Columbus knows just how big this game is (and how sweet any win over those dirtbags tastes). If people aren't texting you, then text/call them all day long until they get on board. This may be our last chance to watch Michigan football for nine freaking months and I for one am going to make the most of it. Not to mention that if/when the good guys kick the crap out of the buckeyes, it will turn a pretty disappointing year into a rousing fucking success. Beat Notre Dame, beat OSU, and go to a bowl game? Bring me some of that every fall.

Oh How I Hate, ohio state!
