we have a team full of great guys. I'm really proud of every single one of these kids. But that doesn't change the fact that the program is a dumpster fire. I want everyone (with the exception of Roy Manning ) to be fired. This program needs to hit the reset button, and try again next year.

its a sucky year, but I'm not liking your perspective on this. everything will be ok...in time. we haven't lost integrity, which to me matters most. we have lost football games... which isn't ok, but shouldn't cause anyone to lump us in with FSU and the UNC situation.
that asshole just wants clicks.

I just can't stand the type of press and journalism where dudes yell their opinions from the roof tops like they know something profound.

Pat Forde has zero of value to say, so he says this. When it's about Michigan, it pisses me off.

I always like your posts too--and I hope I don't sound disrespectful towards you. I disagree with my people all the time, they're still my people. Thanks for understanding me.

Hugs all around.

I will follow sports though, and I will (and have) chosen to not watch things like "First Take" and constant radio chatter and opinion about what is going to happen, and opinions from many I find to be douche bags (not all, but many). I typically just change the channel, but this one ticked me off because it's about Michigan.

I watch sports and read this blog as well as GBW (Sam Webb, et al), and listen to way more XM Radio Music stations than I used to.

Most of US have been calling the program a dumpster fire all year long, but when someone ELSE does it, oh my! We're going to circle up the wagons and, well, have a circle jerk. Cumong man, Frank Clark just beat the crap out of his pregnant girlfriend on top of everything else. If we don't qualify we come PRETTY DAMNED CLOSE.

Michigan has been a dumpster fire this season.  It doesn't matter if he ranks them 1 or 10 on his list.  I get everyones reaction though.  It's like "I can call my girlfriend ugly but you can't."  I just hope this "dumpster fire" gets put out before it becomes a towering inferno feeding off our tears.

It has been tough absorbing all this news being close to the action - I can only imagine how LOL it all looks from afar to dude watching in Virginia or Colorado.

It is one thing to be a tire fire on the field but when you throw in a coach who was a lame duck by week 5, Concussion-gate, Coke for tickets, student protests, Email-gate, an AD firing, and your star defensive player being taken to jail as a cherry on top it has to go down as one of the - if not THE - worst season in the program's history.  Forget W/L, it is everything around what happened to the team this year.  If you took this script to Hollywood they'd laugh and say "too egregious man; try to make it somewhat believable."

He worked a very long time for ESPN which is where he "made" his name, and probably only moved within the last couple years.

Not saying someone should be disliked because they work for ESPN, but it's also the launching point for the shouting-contrarian-views-as-loud-as-possible "journalism" so the stigma isn't undeserved

but then that can be said about any sports journalist ever. You can throw in sports talk radio hosts and ESPN show hosts as well.

I will give him credit for calling out FSU as a dumpster fire that wins. I realize the slobberfest over them has waned this year due to their continued assbaggery but I'll still give kudos for the mention.

Well it isn't wrong....UNC should be 1 period followed by the abhorent space occupied by FSU....just because they are winning shouldn't affect how one views what is going on there, and that shit, putting athletics above institutional credibility, is abhorent/pathetic

There are always asshats on every team every year.  You dont get 100+ teenagers together and not end up with a few asshats.  What defines a program is 1) actually how many there are that may show a systemic problem in the program, and 2) what you do with them once they show themselves outwardly to be asshats.  Of all the problems with Hoke's program, both of the above have not been issues in my opinion.

about having "asshats [there but for the grace of God . . .]" on the team, but whether the school and the local constabulary and justice system abort the normal function of law and order in order to support the proclivities of well-established habitual criminals, which, as far as I can see, nobody has hung on Ann Arbor yet.

Clark's case is a misfortune but, as far as I can see, not an embarrassment to the ethics of the UM AD.

That reeks of piling on.  Clark added nothing new to make UM a worse dumpster fire.  UM has been one long before Clark was arrested and dismissed.  In fact, I'll go as far as to say the quick and decisive action of Hoke actually improved the UM on the 'How Big of a Dumpster Fire is This Program Scale'.

You can't control what every player does every minute of their lives. I give Hoke and UM a lot of credit for being decisive in hadling the issue. It looked like the kind of competence that has seemingly been lacking for a while. It doesn't make up for everything, but it is a step in the right direction and Forde is piling on a bit by adding that. And, I don't think you deserve that #1 ranking.
