Harbaugh news of the day.

For #Michigan fans curious about Jim Harbaugh: Booster Stephen Ross is much more interested in him at U-M than with #Dolphins

No he isn't. Brandon dug his own grave. The email(S) did nothing more than speed the time table, and WD didn't even come up with the original email. Brian and Ace did that, then spent a lot of time verifying everything. WD did nothing more than stumble onto a gold nugget, posted it, then ran and hid until Brian did the work.

No he did not "run and hide".

I was on here for almost a month after the unconfirmed thread. I left with no intention of coming back as a poster due to embarrassment when that poster's FOIA came up with nothing. Three days later, Brian's story was posted.

You should take the high road from now on...don't respond and leave it at that....any response makes you look like a douchebag....right or wrong, take the high road, at this point in M Go Blog history, you should have figured it out by now....

Jimmy Harbs or bust.....and yes, i grew up with him and got killed by him in baseball and football for many years...us River Rats were very happy to see him move to palo alto!

TIMMAY, this time I'm really gonna do it... I'm creating multiple Mgo user profiles so I can downvote you multiple times. I can't believe I'd really take the time to do that, but you are such a floating turd you make me wanna.

Just so we're clear - you COULD have very easily given Brian and Ace props without throwing WD under an imaginary bus just to take a gratuitous shot at him.

You COULD'VE - but that's not how you roll, like ever. Methinks thou jealous of the million Mgopoints?!

Fair enough... your signature says what you're all about, no point in me getting into it with you. That's exactly what you seek when you post - bad vibes and confrontation.

I'd say go to 11 Warriors or RCMB and do it there, but I'm pretty sure getting itno pissing matches with our rivals wouldn't being you the same satisfaction?

I don't get in to "pissing matches" on the internet. I've called WD out for a lot of things, but that's about it. I don't go back and forth repeatedly, usually not more than once or twice. I let him get the last word most times. I just feel compelled to call him out when he's acting juvenile. Simple as that, really. I don't throw insults around, don't get vulgar, and even when I'm berating him, I try to do it somewhat respectfully.

So yeah, I disagree with your characterization of me. Thanks though, gives me something to think about...

I really couldn't say when it started. I just find a lot of his comments objectionable, and I object. I'm going to try to stop doing that, as it never ends well.

Serious question for the peanut gallery: there exists a "hide negative posters" script, but is there a way to block a random poster? That would be an easy solution for me to implement, and save the board the grief...

edit: just to clarify, I don't go around picking fights with him. There are many of his comments that I upvote. Lately it's been more downvotes, but still not on all of his comments. I try to be as objective as I can be.

So, "shreibee:"  Let's say for argument's sake that TIMMAY was all of the things you say he was.  Do you really think your way of communicating it is the most effective?  All you have really accomplished here is to make yourself look like a generic RCMB poster.

I don't always agree with TIMMAY, but I don't always agree with anyone.  As the saying goes, "If two people agree on everything, one is leading and the other is following."  The whole point of a forum is divergent opinions.

Anyway, TIMMAY has contributed a lot of fun opinions and insight here over the years.  You may want to relax and check out the "lay of the land" before you start burning bridges.

You spelled my name wrong man!

Anyway, if you read thru the entire exchange, I tapped out hours ago. TIMMAY signs himself as a DOUCHEY MgoUser, so his snippy enjoinders (to many people I've noticed, but seemimgly particularly to WD) are part of what he sees as his MgoRole. When I don't like it, I say so.

What more "lay of the land" do you think I need to observe that? He claims he only responds negatively to WD posts he doesn't agree with or like - but in the instance I called out, he replied extremely negatively to the semi-serious assertion that WD got Brandon "resigned."

"Jeebus" he began in a fit of pique, then said all WD did was "stumble" upon the emails, then "run and hide."

None of it was true, and all of it was unneccesary - IMHO

Regarding the effect that up (or down) votes have on a MgoUser's standing:

I received an emial earlier today from the Mgoblog Triforce that I had dropped below the requisite 500 pts to be a "trusted" user, following several down votes during my exchange with TIMMAY. The email explained that when you recieve a sufficient number of downvotes this can happen, that it is controlled by a program that Brian/Seth (and whoever the third member of the Triforce is) have changed, but it just still does it anyway.

Then a short while later I received another email telling me my pts had been restored. I am once again "trusted"... I have never started a thread, or edited one, have never known how to do so. But still... I do like being trusted. So Thanks Triforce!!!

Also, I recognize that I played a role in my exchange with TIMMAY bcoming non-collegial, by calling him a floating turd. that was unneccesary, and I'm sorry I did it. He just lays down a lot of flamebait, and I was carrying a iit match at the time!

First he dumps his support of Brandon, then he publicly prefers Harbaugh.

We all know how dumping support of Brandon presaged Brandon's downfall.  So I'd say publicly preferring Harbaugh at Michigan is a positive development.

I'm glad the guy with the biggest wallet at Michigan is open to the idea of Harbaugh.  If things were reversed, I'd be sad.

If nothing else, perhaps Ross can provide some balance to Schlissel's talk of academic "balance."

I think this is the most meaningful piece of information to come out regarding UM and Harbaugh in a while.  If our most influential donor is pulling for JH to leave the NFL and come to Michigan, that throws a little a little more "where there is smoke there is fire" into the situation.
