Frank Clark Arrested On Domestic Violence Charge
No details yet as this apparently just happened but the Erie County jail's website has a log of all arrests and Frank Clark is on there:
If you are for some reason dubious that this guy who looks just like Frank Clark is Frank Clark, his DOB matches that on Frank Clark's MGoBlue bio.
When it rains it pours.

Wow. Not good.
November 16th, 2014 at 8:12 AM ^
I would go so far as to say it is bad.

Can't decide if this will help or hurt his draft stock
November 16th, 2014 at 12:35 PM ^
+1
I appreciate the effort. You took a risk with that one.
November 16th, 2014 at 3:27 PM ^
This will hurt his draft stock- NFL is very concerned about image and "family friendliness" plus a person with a pattern of crime often repeats and gets suspended. Suspensions hurt, look at A. Peterson- who wants to spend $$$$ and draft positions on a time bomb?
November 16th, 2014 at 3:36 PM ^
pretty sure that was sarcasm

We need more trust fund babies.

I hope he has a Plan B.

*no words*
November 16th, 2014 at 10:30 AM ^
I don't know how, but this is somehow Dave Brandon's fault.
November 16th, 2014 at 2:19 AM ^
...And boom goes dynamite
November 16th, 2014 at 2:26 AM ^
The odd thing that first crossed my mind is how prompt this post is.
Dude must have been booked in the last two hours (11/16 date listed) and it's up on the site. I want to say something snarky like "thanks for being awake to bring us this wonderful news so immediately" but not really. More I just tried to think of a similar case. IIRC there were legal incidents (drunk driving-level) that were only discovered after hearing the player was "in the doghouse" or some such and people went searching for a reason.
I mean, bravo for having a tipster in the Erie Co. PD? Gah, this sucks.
The premiere college football blog bringing all it's talent to bear covering the bloody, disastrous, multi-car pile-up that is M football...

2015 you are only 6 weeks away . Hurry. Sigh.
November 16th, 2014 at 3:10 AM ^
Seems like just yesterday we were praising 2014 for basketball purposes...how times have changed.
November 16th, 2014 at 3:31 AM ^
Oh man I forgot about that meme. That got old pretty fast. (Not the winning basketball games part, that never gets old).

We were also praising 2014 for the glorious hiring of a new offensive coordinator. Whoops.
November 16th, 2014 at 1:44 PM ^
Oh, and remember how everyone on this site just hated 2013 and thought 2014 would be much better?
November 16th, 2014 at 2:34 PM ^
it's a football season thing.
Until things change, it's an unpleasant time of year for all of us.
November 16th, 2014 at 2:59 PM ^
I think 2021 is going to be the year we finally put it all together

Some jokes just fly right over my head.
November 16th, 2014 at 8:15 AM ^
The snark crossed my mind, but for fear of losing all of my MGoPoints, I'm leaving it in my brain.
November 16th, 2014 at 8:07 AM ^
If a ND WR can go to NYC to bang a pornstar I'm pretty sure one could easily get to Sandusky, OH from Ann Arbor. What's that, a 2 hour drive?
He's from Cleveland...what do you mean "what is he doing?" A Cleveland kid who goes to school in Ann Arbor gets in trouble in Sandusky, OH. Your question makes it sound like he was in suburban El Paso or something.
Just wish in this case Clark was also going to bang a pornstar.
November 16th, 2014 at 10:31 AM ^
I've had some TIMES in suburban El Paso...
November 16th, 2014 at 1:55 PM ^
It's just random. I've lived in Sandusky since 2004. It was just odd to see him in Perkins in November. There's nothing there.

Um, because he's from Cleveland?
November 16th, 2014 at 2:30 AM ^
Obviously, Frank has had some troubles in the past and we don't know the circumstances that led to the current arrest. I only have an extremely limited fan's perspective. But, he just seemed to come across like a guy who had matured and was on a good path. I hope this doesn't derail that and wish the best for all involved.
November 16th, 2014 at 9:59 AM ^
Thanks for putting this in the proper perspective.
Although I'm not optimistic (based on too-easy-to-make assumptions) that this will turn out well for Clark, no way am I about to pass any kind of judgement until the facts come out. All we can do is watch and wait, then see how the University handles it. The next move we'll hear about will probably be when our interim AD Hackett and/or Coach Hoke take appropriate action.

On the bright side, it looks like the booking date wasn't until today (Sunday). So at least we went one whole Saturday without anything bad or negative happening to Michigan football?

Why did you use a question mark?
November 16th, 2014 at 2:45 AM ^
Not what we need at all. At least we don't have DB to screw this up more. Just own up to it and suspend him for the rest of the season/kick off the team if it can be proven that he's guilty.
November 16th, 2014 at 6:01 AM ^
Given that we know very little about what happened I think call's for suspension, and seperation from the team are a bit pre-mature. Too many people hear "domestic violence" and immediately think that some guy beat the crap out of some woman. When it can also mean violence between siblings.
November 16th, 2014 at 10:17 AM ^
I had a neighbor get in a scuffle with his brother in law on Thanksgiving once, he got charged with domestic violence because they were related. Had they not been related it would have been a simple assault charge. It still follows him around today. Ive seen firsthand his it has made switching jobs very very difficult for him for that exact reason .
November 16th, 2014 at 10:51 AM ^
Would his life have been that much better if he'd been charged with assault?
November 16th, 2014 at 11:19 AM ^
I think that many people read Domestic Violence simply as "Wife Beater", and assualt as "fighting", not really caring about what actually happened.
I'm sure some jobs will hire one but not the other, while many also treat them the same. Hiring a construction worker vs. a teacher.
November 16th, 2014 at 3:20 PM ^
simple assault is a class 5 (minor) misdemeanor, which doesn't require disclosure on applications while and domestic violence is a class two and does require disclosure in many instances, and as another poster said, those words paired together often make a hiring managers mind up for them before they bother vetting the details if the incident
November 16th, 2014 at 3:39 PM ^
the brother in law didn't want to press charges but the police said because it classifies as "domestic violence" they didn't have a choice. Had they not been related to each other, the BIL could have said not to press charges and that would have been the end of it.
November 16th, 2014 at 4:26 PM ^
Assault is a first degree misdemeanor, carrying a maximum sentence of up to 180 days of incarceration and up to a $1,000 fine. Domestic violence (as long as you don't have a prior domestic violence conviction) is also a misdemeanor of the first degree and carries the same penalties.
Main difference, at this stage, is that an assault charge is eligible for a bond right away. One charged with domestic violence must be held in jail until they see a judge.
November 16th, 2014 at 1:11 PM ^
I would say anything at Thanksgiving that involves calling the cops and ends in an arrest is more than a "scuffle", but maybe my Thanksgivings are more laid back than most.
November 16th, 2014 at 3:18 PM ^
the brother in law had been living in their basement rent free for over a year and had too much to drink and was saying some awful things to his sister(my neighbors wife) and my neighbor gave him a few chances to pipe down, but he wouldn't shut up...so a wrestling match ensued and the brother in laws gf called 911 immediately.
So, while not ideal, I think my neighbors actions were quite defensible
November 16th, 2014 at 2:40 AM ^
This guy already had a second chance. Not good.
November 16th, 2014 at 2:44 AM ^
Isn't he still on probation?
