Just wanted a change of pace here and talk about the positives about Michigan Football and not the negatives. Little throwback video. Link below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hQsFsK3neoU

I remember when this came out a little while back. You could vote for different plays.
Pretty cool and a lot to chose from.

Some other great plays:
1995 vs. Virginia - Scott Dreisbach TD to Mercury Hayes
2011 vs. Notre Dame - Denard Robinson TD to Roy Roundtree
2012 vs. Northwestern - Devin Gardner 53 yd bomb to Roy Roundtree to set up OT

I will never forget that Virginia game in the 105 degree heat! UVA had lots of NFL talent and we pulled off a miracle. For 3 qtrs Michigan looked like they did against NW last week.

and then one great one. I remember Tiki Barber was on the VA team, among others. But yeah, that was the hottest weather for a game I ever remember. Thank God the water wasn't $4.50 a bottle!

I felt bad for the Michigan players having to wear the dark blue in the oppresive heat. At least VA got to wear white. I swear it made a difference.
I remember thinking "How can the players even function in helmets, pads, and dark jerseys? I'm in shorts and a white T-shirt and I need a nap."

but I love how each year the temp rises. It will be 115 in 10 years.

The walk to the stadium was uphill both ways.
Kids today are so soft.
November 13th, 2014 at 11:41 AM ^
Was this before they dropped the level of the field?
November 13th, 2014 at 9:36 AM ^
dropped the pass the previous play "on purpose".

While not a top ten play over the course of the stadium's history, Kenny Demens saying "NO" to Tyrus Jones on 4th and 2 was a pretty damn nice play to end that particular game.
Nice video though - one of the cool things about this is remembering how you felt in the moment for the ones that you were there to personally witness (for me, The Timmy Show, Braylonfest, both Desmond games, The Woodson Return, TOUCHDOWN MANNINGHAM!, and as a kid, the Harbaugh bomb)

Hello Heisman!! Man, I miss Kieth Jackson! He was the best ever!

Apparently nothing great happened before Bo. I can't believe Wisconsin '08 made it.
November 13th, 2014 at 8:33 AM ^
2008 Wisconsin? I can think of plenty of games more interesting and exciting than that one.

Title of segment is plays not games.
It was a great play.
At the time I thought that was a huge win for that team. And that play turned it around.
More than one play but I loved the 96 MSU game where Michigan scored 21 points in like a minute and a half.
Henson to Terrel against Wisc. was a good one too.
November 13th, 2014 at 8:55 AM ^
There were so many other great plays by the defense too. Marcus Ray, Woodley, Messner etc.

If we're talking defense, any of a myriad of plays in 1969's 24-12 win over Ohio State, particularly thinking of Barry Pierson.

Yes, any of the picks.
Also, the (alleged by Woody) pass interference that led to Woody tearing up the yard marker in 1977, I believe.
November 13th, 2014 at 1:30 PM ^
I believe 1977 was the year Woody punched the camera man, as well.

Pick six against Iowa in 2004.

2 point stop on Illinois...after giving up 65 points?

That's my point. They finally got one. It was dramatic. It really was. Place went nuts.

There is an awesome video done by Wolverine Historian on youtube called 1997 Michigan Defense. It's over 30 minutes long. You can pick and choose from that.
Brandon Herron 2 TD game
Shazor pick 6 against Miami(Oh)
03 Curry scoop and score vs Purdue

I'm pretty sure Sam Sword manslaughtered the QB in that game. You saw the QB, then Sam, then you didn't see the QB again.
November 13th, 2014 at 1:19 PM ^
Yes, to your point: ND got the ball in our half 3 times in the 4th quarter and got zero points.
Also, the "Take That" stop against OSU to wrap up the game.

Love all of those

nothing done by the Mad Magicians, Ron Johnson, Bob Timberlake, Ron Kramer, Bob Chapius, the Elliot's, or a whole slew of other Wolverines qualify???

Recency bias.
Don't worry, they probably had some "Top Michigan Moments" radio poll in the 1940's that completely ignored Yost's 1900's teams.
And there was probably a newspaper poll in the 1900's that ignored all those great 1800's teams.
Everybody always thinks their era is the only one that counts.

Yeah that was a big stretch in my mind.

The greatest play in MICH stadium is that one time I got a handy. Fantasitc execution. Just a whale of a play
November 13th, 2014 at 8:11 AM ^
That it was a solo effort. I mean, you single-handedly changed the outcome with one play.

Wow...you mean there used to be excitement around this program? Thanks for the flashbacks...great memories. The only problem is that now I'm even more depressed to see where this program used to be and how far it has fallen to the point where Michigan football is now pretty much irrelevant.
November 13th, 2014 at 8:33 AM ^
thank you.
and don't worry. we'll get back to exciting and wonderfully memorable football soon.
November 13th, 2014 at 10:37 AM ^
will do that. they are scratching and trying to make up for lack of digits on their hooves, and that their legs don't bend right. and even well cared for livestock have fleas. no fun in the heat.

forever more.

Woodson's TD run against UCLA... i don't think many people will remember this one...
November 13th, 2014 at 9:03 AM ^
I'd like to give an honorable mention to the game-winning TD against Notre Dame in 1999, and the subsequent defensive stop to seal it. Was there for that one!
EDIT: after running to YouTube really quick (thanks as always, WolverineHistorian!), I see that it wasn't quite as dramatic as I recall...I forgot they actually completed their last pass and simply ran out of time. I was thinking there was a pass batted down in end zone to end the game. We were in the student section and the action was down in front of the south end zone, all we could really be sure of was the crowd reaction. I'm sure at the time I soon found out what had happened, but apparently 15 years is enough to get a little hazy...

I know this was produced by UM, but I was expecting at least one play from another team. How can you list "best plays in michigan stadium" and not include the Colorado Hail Mary?
