Open Michigan Basketball thread vs. N. Michigan

Per the suggestion in the banhammer posts, discuss the game tonight freely. (And don't make me look like an asshat by flaming the football team here).

Hopefully I can get my weekly fix of defense in this game. (Kidding... kidding...) Seriously pumped for this season though. I can't wait to see what Beilein has in store for us this season. Also can't wait to see Vogrich starting to get his 3-point groove on and Morris getting more comfortable in the system.

Excited for the game tonight. This is the first time I've been this excited for a season start since the depressing Lavell Blanchard and Bernard Robinson Jr. years.

I don't have cable and was hoping to catch some of these early games streaming on the BTN site. I was looking forward to this because I really wanted to see a Michigan team dominate today...

Hey - I'm pretty sure the Big Ten Network calls these guys at 3pm and asks "You doing anything today! No, ok good, want to make a few bucks and do some commentary! OK, just show up at 6, 6:30 and we'll go from there" The BTN has never struck me as a well oiled machine when you get past the first commentary team

has good talent, just ask jevohn shepherd... oh wait never mind..:) but in all seriousness, canada does have good talent. steve nash has panned out ok and rick fox wasn't half bad. i grew up playing HS ball over in windsor and i played agaisnt a couple of kids that could have played at a low end D-1 high d-2 school easily but college scouts wouldn't make the trip over back then. now the university of windsor runs a tourney every year around x-mas time and invites the best teams from ontario to play. there always a bunch of scouts there looking at players. the other issue is that basketball is sport number 4 in canada that most kids play. hockey of course is number 1, followed by baseball, football and then basketball.

I know there will be like 100 basketball games on the BTN, but does anyone know if each team will be shown on the btn evenly? I assume the games will be on overflow channels as well if there are several games on at once like football.

So we basically get to see every Michigan game! I saw one that appears to be broadcast by BTN online..since it stated the btn website instead of btn. Thanks for pointing out the link, I didn't think teams would be scheduled on tv that far in advance.

Not trying to mix the two, but I watch this team, and it makes me think about UM in football. Maybe UM won't make a bowl game this year, but year 3 with your own players and your system thoroughly installed, you can see how good the teams could be.

Any other students here seriously regretting not getting season tickets? I wish I was at Crisler so bad. Hopefully the resurgence of UM BBall will cause the Athletic Dept. to give "The House That Caz Built" a facelift/replace it/rebuild it.

I walked to the ticket office the day of the last home game of the full Fab Five vs. NW (and anyone with a brain knew Webber was gone after that year), and was able to get like a half dozen tix (admittedly in the upper bowl). Other than HUGE games, I don't think many will be complete sell outs.
