Brady Hoke Geico Commercial
Some might not appreciate this but it is a creative take on the matter. I did get a chuckle out of it..
sorry, embed doesn't want to work for me and SIAP.

This was actually posted back towards the end of September. So technically, Hoke wasn't quite on the ground yet. On the ropes yeah, but not knocked down, face on the mat type of down as he is now.

Hoke isn't doing very much to get back up.
One of the reasons being him having a bus over him.

it would take me around 50 years to make as much money as brady hoke makes in ONE year. thats a lot of money. when you make that kind of money this kind of criticism is expected (especially with the internet nowadays). he took the job understanding the consequences and possible outcomes.

Sure Brady is making good money but I don't think it's ever been about that with him

Seems like an awfully shallow way to judge a man.

And if one grows up to have a bank account reading $1,000,001 you'll cease to have sympathy for them?

You don't seem to know what the slippery slope fallacy is, so I'll post an explination.
This is a conclusion based on the premise that if A happens, then eventually through a series of small steps, through B, C,..., X, Y, Z will happen, too, basically equating A and Z. So, if we don't want Z to occur, A must not be allowed to occur either.
What about a poor student becoming rich offers any false argument of a chain reaction?

But he will end his Michigan coaching career earning nearly $20 million. He was never on track to make that kind of money before Brandon opened up the coffers. He seems like a conservative type of guy (definitely doesn't spend any money on clothes) so he and is family's future is secure. And knowing that you're financially set for the rest of your life has an impact on you, i don't care who you are or what you are about. That level of security probably makes Hoke sleep a little better at night, regardless of what happens.
And this is a harsh indictment on Hoke but i think the money is the main reason he seems checked out. He talks about accountability, but who's really been held accountable? Seems accountability is just a quaint notion he tosses out to make it seem like he is a no nonsense type of guy, yet nonsense is all you see on Saturdays. And it has run rampant and unabated for two years now.

"We would never play a kid that possibly has a head injury"
"He's in Florida dealing with a family issue"
"Shane Morris is the backup quarterback and cleared to play"
"It's all in the statement"
"Devin has Turf Toe"
Pretty exhaustive list for a guy that's supposed to be "mentoring" 115 sons, while preaching "accountability."

Brody Hork could possibly be selling car insurance at this time next year.

That quote sums up Hoke's problem from the start. He talks too much about past championships and tradition and the expectation to win. Before every meeting he asks the team to say "Team 135", "42 Big Ten Championships". Saban talks about taking it one play at a time and how every play is important. I doubt he talks much about Alabama's tradition other than during recruiting. Once they sign they are team 1 who hasn't won shit. That's what Hoke should say during the meetings. We suck, we didn't win those championships. This is team #1. If you want to win you have to earn it. Take everything one rep at a time, one drill at a time, one play at a time. I honestly think the players should be barred from the trophy room in Schembechler Hall and the win wall should be covered with a tarp if the players are in the building.

I believe it is too disrespectful. I have no doubt he is doing the best he can but the job is beyond his capabilites. No need destroy his dignity.

People are just mean. I'm ticked too--but jesus, people are just mean.

but i'm genuinely starting to feel bad. He's a good guy who cares about his players. He deserves to be fired but not ridiculed. I know he gets paid 4M/year but my thoughts are more from one human to another, money aside.

I'm a two time alumni and LOVE this university. Even I think this is funny as @#$#@.
Hoke is delusional. It's about one game at a time and for him to have been talking about championships at that time is/was ridiculous. Win one game Brady - then we'll talk about the rest.
Can't wait till DB and BH are gone so we can have real leaders leading this program.
Please do it now Dr. Schlissel. There are no recruits who are going to commit to UM while this tire fire is on. There's nothing to lose by just pulling the plug on both of them right now.

Tired of Hoke, want him gone...and this is still stupid. Although I hate every Geico ad ever made, so it was never likely to win me over.
October 30th, 2014 at 12:57 AM ^
Based on his offensively philosophy, perhaps the old Geico Cavemen would be a better representation of Coach Hoke.
