Tate issues??????

Submitted by Wolverdore on

Forgive me as I have not been on tonight, but my Sparty friends have been emailing and texting like crazy about some rumors about Tate. First it was pot then it was his Dad was pissed at RichRod. According to them, Tate's facebook says it was his worst day ever. I am hoping it is all a bunch of trolls doing things. Could someone please elaborate if they know more. Thanks.

I don't do facebook and haven't been on any other sites. I am assuming it was some troll ploy, but apparently there were a bunch of threads discussing all of this on the Fort and Mlive and then it all went clear. Just inquiring.

My best friend was born and raised a buckeye fan... He sent me a text a week and a half ago while I was at work telling me that Les Miles was coming to Michigan and a bunch of dogshit stuff... Never trust your rivals until you hear it here on MgoBlog, then you'll know theirs some credibility behind what they are saying...

You're absolutely right about the post. As soon as he posted he had like 20 comments, and Tate actually replied to a comment on the thread with, "Got bitched at like no other today. It was unreal!" This comment has since been deleted...And no, I'm not stalking him on Facebook I just happened to look at the thread and was taken aback that he would respond with that (since deleted) comment.

Dropped three straight, outrageous early season Heisman talk has been replaced by discussions as to the fastest driving routes that Devin Gardner can use to get to Ann Arbor, and several man-beast Buckeyes day-dreaming about the best angle for decapitation. I think he will be fine based upon what I've seen on the field, but I think a little angst should be expected given the circumstances.

Maybe.... just maybe he had a bad day for reasons completely unrelated to his relationship with the university of michigan football program? I know I'm sounding like Glen Beck here, but college students are entitled to have a bad day from time to time

If you are referring to me as a troll, you are misinformed. Why would I be a member since June 2008 to plant this.

I simply asked a question regarding some info presented to me and I wondered if it was the work of trolls or any truth to it.

1) your icon is of Vandy, meaning that you may be a casual M follower (not fan).

2) you may be among the people that wants RR gone and wants to get more people against him

3) you have no credible source, link, anything to backup your OP.

4) you have an incendiary title to your post.

Generally, those are signs of a troll, and just because you were a member for 1.5 years means pretty much nothing (93 points).

and asked them if they heard about Nichol and Cousins getting caught together by a state trooper in that rest stop bathroom stall earlier tonight. You heard it here first.

Meh, I was kind of joking, but in the fall I seriously have to tell all my Spartan family and friends to just not talk to me, because it always devolves into a convo about football, which between passionate OSU-UM fans or UM-MSU fans devolves into a yelling match.

The guy isn't BSing you, Tate had something on his Facebook saying he had a bad day. He also said he wouldn't be starting, but he retracted that.

It's kind of funny/sad what people post on his wall/statuses. It's a great study in internet cajones, especially the people insulting him and coaches. Yes, it's one thing to friend a college freshman and quite another to write some really stupid/belittling shit on his wall. Classy.

I'm technically his Facebook friend because I thought it would be interesting. Now I can't go to his profile because every time I do my eyes bleed from the crap people post on there. Some people post to call out those that are posting the crap, but they look ridiculous because they're protecting someone they don't know on the internet.

People, in general are stupid.

College athletes' Facebooks are funny to look at but they're an example of internet anonymity and how low people will go when they're not looking at someone face to face. When Donte Green (good riddance) declared for the NBA Draft after his freshman year at Syracuse, his wall was full of "Donte what the fuck you lied how you could do this asshole" etc., etc. Really inappropriate and sometimes threatening stuff. If we were as visible as these guys are, we'd probably want our privacy cranked all the way up and wouldn't accept random friend requests, but then again, we'd be too busy to even think about Facebook. I'm sure that had Tate realized what a firestorm he'd set off, he'd have never posted that comment. But he's not stupid for being a college freshman and using Facebook -- people who comment on his stuff and start flame wars there are.

This is Tate's Facebook status:

Terrible Day!
posted 3 hours ago.

48 rubes commented on the post. One asked if he's going to join McGuffie at Rice. A couple others got the requisite anti-Rich Rod shots in.

assholes who friended him in the first place. The innocence of Fuck.Shit.Up has been lost. Which is why Using Web 2.0 Technology To Verbally Assault Strange Teenagers is under review for promotion to 'mortal sin' status by the Catholic Church.

it's just giving a status update. It's no different than you telling your buddy or spouse about how rough your day was at work. It's different than quitting or yelling at the boss. It's just blowing off steam, and this is how ~20 year olds do it nowadays.

Think back to college or high school when a professor game a tough exam or a significant amount of homework. Didn't you "complain" with your classmates about how much that "sucks"? It's the same situation, only older people (myself included) freak out on your every word.

I think I am the last person on earth under 60 who isn't on Facebook, so I might be mistaken, but it seems from the comments like a number of the guys on the team have posted stuff like, "this has been a tough week." My guess is they don't like losing any more than the fans do (and probably a million times more so) and it probably doesn't help when a bunch of morons who go to class with them and post on the internet and call in lame talk-shows act like the coach they like and believe in is on his way out because losing to Purdue is "UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!"

That or somebody cooked up a bad batch of chicken broccoli bake and gave the entire team the hot poops. Either way I don't think this is anything to write home about.
