Wife Day Open Thread

Wife Day (I.e. bye week) is upon us. Considering all that our mgowives have had to tolerate from us this season, how will you be expressing appreciation for your better half today?

You sound like you are 12. First off, the whole wife day thing on this blog is mostly just joking around, as it started with a really great parody done years ago.

Second, for many of us, our wives are incredibly tolerant of the fact that our Michigan obsession dominates much of every fall Saturday. In my home, because we are running around with kids all day, we DVR all games and go on complete media blackout so that we can watch them "live" at night when the kids are asleep. Very hard to do, as it entails avoiding all places in TVs, including most restaurants. While my wife is a Michigan football fan, it's still a huge imposition, which she deals with without complaint. Hell, she even plans a whole gameday meal for every game featuring some of the best "couch food" you have ever had to really make every game an event for us.

So, when we have a bye, it's nice to show how much i appreciate her going along with my fanaticism and make the day all about whatever she wants to do. Fortunately, we kinda like the same stuff, so it's not a huge deal. But, a nice mgoblog tradition nonetheless.

This.  Exactly.

Plus, being thoughtful and considerate to my wife is not the same as being dominated and whipped.  I want to be thoughtful and considerate to my wife.  That's what marriage is all about.

1st I'm taking the two kids to swim practice. Then going to have a couple friends over and bake French bread with them. Next to the store for chili ingredients. Home to cook said chili and do a few small things around the house. My plan is to have a happy wife and still manage the ND v FSU with beer, chili, freshly baked bread and friends. Oh, and no stress whatsoever.
