I've always kind of secretly hoped that Canadians call their Thanksgiving "Canadian Thanksgiving."  As in, when they sit down to celebrate, they start by saying something like, "As we gather here for Canadian Thanksgiving ... ."  Your post implies that's not true and I'm a little disappointed.

Just kidding.  Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.  The Canadians in my life are some of my favorite people.

In honor of Canada's holiday, I'm looking at purchasing a Nik Stauskas framed montage for the man cave.

We used to celebrate both when I was little - we would go visit my relatives in the Toronto area for Thanksgiving, and about a month later, they would come and visit us for our version of it. The upside of this is that in the span of about 5 week or so you can get two turkey-induced comas, so it isn't at all a bad experience.

Indeed, we ran into Thanksgiving in Toronto as people would, without prompting, say to us "Happy Thanksgiving!". We responded in kind, of course. I will say - the fact that this originates from Martin Forbisher's not dying as a result of trying to find the Northwest Passage makes this very...interesting.

In any case, Happy Thanksgiving to the MGoCanada folks, and thank you for allowing my wife and I to get buzzed in the wonderful Harbourfront district in Toronto this weekend.

Canada doesn't suck. The old people who came across the bridge into Port Huron when I was a kid to get cheaper gasoline, their driving sucked. They were the reasons I learned such colorful language as a young lad. Drove my dad insane with foul mouthed anger.

It so happens that I live about five minutes from it here in Romulus. It is at the corner of Goddard & Shook in what there is of a downtown Romulus. It's right across from a grocery store and near a bank and a pharmacy, so it sort of becomes one-stop shopping in a way. It was closed for a while last year, I think, after a bust, however it is a historic building (the old Romulus train depot) and our heritage must continue.

I'll admit it: no idea Canada has a Thanksgiving before now. Guess you really do learn something new every day. Happy Thanksgiving Canadian Wolverines and all other Canadians as well. Hopefully you all have the day off and if so enjoy.
