I might have caused Michigan to lose these last two games.

Submitted by alabluema on

During the past two weeks, I've been fortunate enough to watch the first half on the upstairs television, which is larger and newer than the one downstairs. At halftime of both the Illinois and Purdue games, however, I had to move downstairs, where the television is not as nice. Is it possible that this "shift" in game position of mine led to Michigan's second half breakdowns? Against Wisconsin and Ohio State I promise to watch the entire game in the basement. Sorry if I blew it.

Of COURSE it's possible. Way to go, you ruined it for everyone.

don't worry about it too much. i haven't been wearing my regular michigan football shirt the last 2 weeks either. and yes, it does make a difference on the field.

No no no!!! If you watch the games on the downstairs TV we are doomed! Think about it, any time you watched it on that TV, we started to do poorly. It wasn't the shift, it was the tv itself. The downstairs TV is obviously cursed, you should dispose of it immediately! You should watch the entire game on the upstairs tv that we played well on (and is apparently a better tv - so bonus for you).

YEP!! If you're all in for Michigan, you would get rid of it.

I was unemployed weeks 1-4, I got a new job making 60,000 a year starting off starting MSU week. We have been 1-5 since, I quit and am now unemployed. ALL IN FOR MICHIGAN.

I completely misunderstood the op. Sorry. You need to fill that basement with cement, block the stairs to the main level and get up on that damn roof and watch that game! Hell, if your neighbors house is higher you get on his roof! He will understand. Sorry for the mix-up.

On my way out to Iowa City I purchased an authentic Addidas #1 jersey to show support for my team. We proceeded to lose that game despite my shiny new jersey. Since that day I have sported the jersey for every single game with the exception of the Delaware State game, which I was unable to watch.

It is evident that my cursed jersey is contributing to our team's poor play on the field, but I have a difficult time not wearing something that (a) cost me $150 and (b) makes me look so darn good.

I keep telling myself to stay away, but every saturday morning I end up getting out of the shower, tossing on the jersey, and watching M football take it in the pooper. But at least I look good while watching.

I think I may have too. I have noticed a correlation between my fantasy team and Michigan football. Whenever my fantasy team loses, Michigan loses their next game. Good news though! I completely pwn'ed the 2nd place guy over the weekend. I am fully confident for this weekend. Go Blue!!

Of course you cost this team the last two games. DO NOT under any circumstances go downstairs. Forgo the TV if you must and listen on the radio or follow online. The team needs you, RichRod needs you...I need you. Pay your dues, and sacrifice for the good of this team.

My last three years...

2007:
The Horror
Oregon
Wisconsin (annual road game)

2008:
Utah
Michigan State
Penn State (annual road game)

2009:
Western (yeah!!!)
Michigan State (road game, but not annual road game)
Iowa (annual road game)
Penn State

So my aggregate record the last three years is...

1-9

Good times!

I offset you for the Purdue game, so you're off the hook. I'd never been at the Big House for a loss, so you cancelled out my good karma. Someone else is clearly at fault here.

Personally, I'm beginning to wonder if the liveblog jinx doesn't also apply to football. Maybe we should try going CIL-free this Saturday.

Sorry, but I laid claim to the jinx when I met Tate while out to breakfast. I shook his hand, and although I am not carrying H1N1, I am cloaked in failure. That is terribly contagious.

It seems we play better when your upstairs.

I have also been DVR'ing the games and not watching them since we lose. I just need to stop recording the games.

Maybe I should break out the out school VCR and fire that baby up.

I lost my lucky socks after Notre Dame. My lucky socks, formerly worn sparingly so that the magic wouldn't wear off, were used for Notre Dame this year, Wisconsin and Minnesota last year, and Michigan State and Florida in '07. Now, with them gone, they can never be used to swing the tide again (although they may not be that lucky, as I always wore them for OSU).

I've tried switching up my gameday ritual for the past 3 losses, and obviously nothing has worked. Perhaps I should try going without the alcohol this Saturday

Last year at the halftime of the Wisconsin game a friend of mine said that if Michigan won, he'd buy a keg that night. He didn't buy a keg that night, the football gods were offended, and look where we are now.

I watched the 4-0 start here in Hawaii, however, returned to Michigan for the last 6 games, and we all know how those games have gone. I am now back in Hawaii!

Fact: Michigan is 5-0 this season in games to which I bring my ALL IN towel. Michigan is 0-5 in all games to which I do not bring my ALL IN towel.

sorry.
