Tigers Post-Bullpen Meltdown Drinking Thread

Submitted by LS And Play on

We need to get this going earlier than usual. The sports misery that is the fall of 2014 continues. Bullpen cannot get outs. Ever. Ever.

As has been said, I don't think it is the GM. He has brought in the best reliever possible and when they get here they suck, and more worrisome is that when they leave some seem to be reborn. This points to coaching, and since the pitching coach has stayed the same, I think all eyes point directly there.

Why bother?

Every year they sign starting pitchers, hitters build nice 5-2 or whatever leads and the bullpen gives up the game in 1/3 of an inning. Same story different year.

I just don't get how Ausmus pulls Sanchez in that situation.  Dude was rolling.  And it's not like he's never gone multiple inninges before.  But nooooooo, Joba is clearly a good idea.  Pfffffffffft.

If they weren't in the playoffs we wouldn't expect them to succeed. Much easier emotionally when they were eliminated by July for like 15 years at a time... Not satisfied with just making it... Think about Mr Illich! How much he cares for his teams, his city... Please must win for him before it's too late

I know it's a game

But .... (graphic description of what I hope befalls Chamberlain, Soria and the rest of the f'ing bullpen deleted)

Unless Sanchez told him he was done, then going away from him was idiotc.

Suposedly before the game, Ausmus said Sanchez limit was something like 2 innings.  I have no idea why, but that was what they said on the radio.  Maybe that was all he could do after coming back from the injury.

You can go back over the last three or four post seasons and find a baserunning blunder. Last year, it was Prince Fielder and the Tigers lost by one. This year, no outs, one comes in and Cabrera gets thrown out by five steps. Detroit is up 6-3; I look at my wife and said, "This happens every year, and the Tigers always loses these games by one run. Tigers lose 7-6."

FUCK, I hate being right. I am really hating fall sports. I have heartburn from college football and postseason baseball...

Even if Cabrera scores to go up 7-3, we still lose 8-7.  That's just how it goes with this team.  I remember when people wanted Brookens gone last year because he had Cabrera gunned down at home last year.  It just doesn't matter.  Seems like we're cursed in the third base box.

I'm glad I don't follow or like baseball, but I did watch that horror show today while I was working.  Didn't the Tiger's bullpen blow a bunch of playoff games last year or the year before?

Sports in Michigan are getting pimp slapped by bad luck and/or karma lately... Megatron and Golden Tate are questionable for Sunday.  Stafford is almost hit by a bridge... a f'ing bridge. Bad juju right now...
