Stevie Brown and its not even close. Seriously I have seen Williams make exactly 1 decent play the entire season.

He made a decent play this season?!?!?!?!?!?!

Burned at the stake or impaled?

Having just made a smart aleck comment, I have to give Stevie a lot of credit for this year. After having been burned a lot in the past, given a chance to do something new, he did a very decent job in 2009. One could argue he was one of the better defenders on the team in 2009. Kudos to him.

.Stevie's play last year was amplified by our offense's inability to score points. I feel like Williams blows it enough times for us to lose on good offensive days.

I completely agree. I was thinking about it today and our two worst games were 1. against a really good defense and 2. WTF. Every team has their WTF game (OSU-Purdon't, PSU-Iowa, USC-Oregon). Even against Illinois and Purdue, our offense made a mistake with the momentum, but then the defense pissed it away. Obviously Mike Williams doesn't deserve ALL of the blame, but he is by far the weakest link and we all know what they say about weakest links.

Is my favorite part of this season. He is clearly this year's Cato June award winner.

At least Stevie Brown in 08 would make an occasional big play like an interception, and stevie's play in the box last year was actually decent.

2007 Johnny Sears

2008 Stevie Brown at least had a shot at making a decent play. I hate to give up on a redshirt soph, but Mike Williams has just been a total liability in the secondary.

Then don't give up on him. He's played like 3-4 positions in the last couple years for 3 different coordinators, coupled with a nasty injury. Who knows, maybe he'll pull a Stevie Brown and play solid his senior year.

But in terms of pure talent appearing to not get the game, Mouton has my vote...lots of physical skills but never seems to be in the right place, play the right scheme, and hardly ever lays a good lick on anyone...except for that ND dude.
Rooting for him and his teammates...but watching has been painful.

Should they try moving Mike Williams to Stevie Brown's role in 2010?

Clearly Williams. At this point, I would rather see Big Will line up at Safety.
