Michigan will NOT make a bowl game

Submitted by MichMike86 on
With two games to play against ranked teams it doesn't look like we will get our 6th win to become bowl eligible. We have won one road game in the time RR has coached here. Madison is an extremly difficult place to play, probably the hardest place this team will go all year, and they are ranked. Ohio State is on a completely different level than Michigan is. It will probably be that way for some time. We showed how ineffective we are against mobile quarterbacks when we played Illinois. Nothing would make me happier to see a Michigan win but seeing how dominant their D is we probably won't score 2 tds. This game will be ugly to watch. The thing that makes this season so frustrating is seeing how close we were to starting off 7-0. If just a couple bounces could've gone our way in the Michigan State and Iowa game we wouldn't be worrying about making a bowl. For everyone who thinks RR should be fired you should look at it this way: no incoming coach would want to take over a team that doesn't give him the 4-5 years they need to implement their system. Also, if we do this our team will be set back and stay in college football purgatory even longer. The recruits we are supposed to have for next year may change their mind with a coaching change and depth could get worse.

I dont think he should be fired... but that simply is not true about setting the program back 5 years. Saban/Alabama; Tressel/Ohio State; Meyer/Florida etc. Teams make drastic leaps in 2-3 years. Again I dont want RR fired, but you are simply wrong when you say that firing RR would set M back 5 years. Simply not true.

when they lost by 8 to the same Purdue team? As for Wisconsin, at least they won't spread our defense out. I like our D's chances better against their style of offense which isn't saying a whole lot.

FWIW, I think each of the three cases you brought up involved teams with talent that grossly underachieved. We were built for 2007 to be the year. Between graduation and other losses, the cupboard was very bare relative to what Saban, Tressel and particularly Meyer inherited.

...whether the next coach was a spread coach or traditional offense. There are teams that can turn around with a new coach in a few years but it is more rare than regular. Give it some time, if it doesnt make a huge leap by next year, then start worrying but until then - Go Blue - better luck next week.

If a reputation on a blog isn't important, then what's the point of betting on it in the first place? If I'm going to bet, I'd rather bet something consequential than a silly thing like an internet moniker.

a chance you have short term memory loss because you posted that you had so many more points than me and how my tag was unimportant to yours. It's something you value or you wouldn't have stated that. Maybe I should argue with the wall next to me. It may make more sense than you.

"Obviously there is a chance you have short term memory loss..." You, MichMike86, suggested betting our respective MGoBlog monikers. Frankly, I don't give a rat's ass if you post under MichMike86 for the rest of your life. That's inconsequential to me. Like I suggested in another thread, I'm going to go out to a nice dinner. I suggest you do the same and take a break from posting.

Sometimes in the morning I am petrified and can't move Awake but cannot open my eyes And the weight is crushing down on my lungs I know I can't breathe And hope someone will save me this time And your mother's still callin you insane and high Swearin it's different this time And you tell her to give in to the demons that possess her That god never blessed her insides Then you hang up the phone and feel badly for upsetting things Crawl back into bed to dream of a time When your heart was open wide and you love things just because Like the sick and dying And sometimes when you're on You're really fuckin on And your friends they sing along And they love you But the lows are so extreme That the good seems fuckin cheap And it teases you for weeks in its absence But you'll fight and you'll make it through You'll fake it if you have to And you'll show up for work with a smile You'll be better And You'll be smarter And More grown up and a better daughter or son And a real good friend And you'll be awake You'll be alert You'll be positive though it hurts And you'll laugh and embrace all your friends And you'll be a real good listener You'll be honest You'll be brave You'll be handsome and you'll be beautiful You'll be happy Your ship may be comin in You're weak but not givin in To the cries and the wails of the valley below And your ship may be comin in You're weak but not givin in And you'll fight it you'll go out fightin all of em Watch the hype video again (made me feel a little better). In the mean time, just get hammered. Go Blue, beat the badgers.
