RAGE or ENNUI???

Submitted by amphibious1 on

Part of me wants to be angry about this, yet I had the feeling that this would happen. Your thoughts?

I applaud the Minnesota fans that came out to cheer for their team despite the streak Michigan has been on.

Tip of the hat to them.

And then back to rage.

The first time I yelled was at seeing an OBVIOUSLY significantly injured Morris hobbling yet staying in the game, ebing down by more than 2 scores. Seeing Minnesota seemingly go after his left knee knowing it was injured. And then taking an awful helmit-to-helmit hit that should have been Morris' last snap...and he took one more. AFter the way they handled the end of teh ND...that's a fireable offense.

Those kids are being put in positions to fail and get injured. Hey look! They're not only failing...they're getting injured!

I have never once been angry at Hoke...but of all the things he can control, this was by far his biggest failure so far. Not the game, no, fuck the game. You have your QB hobbling on one leg, who has shown absolutely nothing in the pass game anyway to warrant staying in the game,  why in the FUCK is he still out there?

And why did NOT ONE PERSON evaluate him for possible concussion?

Abject disaster. I'm there. Fire Hoke. He is a great man, but he is not cut out to coach this program. Put Mattison or Nussmeier as interim.

Feel bad for Devin. I pulled for Morris to start...but I have an EXTREMELY hard time seeing how Morris was the better option in practice after the way he performed today. Devin clearly should have started. Is Hoke doing this stuff to prove a point to the fanbase? Because wow. It worked. Congrats, coach! Now you have TWO partially injured QBs! And a #1 WR who's even more injured!

Honestly, fire him now. This season can't be salvaged until Hoke is gone. I disagree with the announcers completely. Hoke completely lost his team today. He lost the fans awhile ago. And I was one of his supporters after the ND loss!

Unmitigated disaster. Announcers summed it up best..."It's hard to see any silver linings for Michigan".

Honestly, it's complete indifference for me. How can I be pissed at something I completely saw coming. I hated the Hoke hire from day 1 and I'm glad he will be gone soon.

Ennnnnnnnnnui. I feel like a reforming writer who lived to see violent revolution because the imperial chancellery was too busy smoking opium to give the serfs a 5% wage hike.

I half-heartedly wanted Hoke gone last week and to put Mattison as interim HC. Now it's a must. Hoke has lost his team. It's done. Brandon has to make a move now or it shows we just don't care.

I will always be a proud alum, proud of my school and my education. But I am no longer proud of Michigan Football. I may change my Thanksgiving plans so I don't have to see my step brother, a MSU alum.

Ennui. I'm numb to frustration during and after games. The Wolverines have become my Browns. I go into a game open to the possibility of a loss to a perceived lesser opponent. I don't get upset at 3 and outs on offense anymore or long drives resulting in points on our D. Culturally I accept that we aren't that good anymore and all of the preseason hope is flushed without any emotional investment.

relief, actually.

Certainly Brandon and Hoke both have to go, at this point.

And if rumors are correct, once this is accomplished, we can now have nice things that have been denied to us since '08.
