Jai Eugene was just covering Marquis Maze - why do those names sound so familiar?
November 7th, 2009 at 4:54 PM ^
Not sure on Maze but Eugene was the recruit that allegedly really soured the Les Miles/Lloyd Carr relationship. Eugene was an Army AA that committed to Michigan during the game. Right before or on signing day, Miles yoinked him from Michigan. Supposedly Miles made some unsavory comments about Carr in the process.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:56 PM ^
I know - was trying to be silly
BTW Maze was a UM recruit (may even have been a commit at one point).
But the Jai Eugene thingie - was where the wonderful LLoyd is sick and has to retire rumors came from.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:58 PM ^
My bad. Read it as a chance to flex my memory.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:03 PM ^
You provide a very informative update for those not aware of the Jai Euguene debacle.
November 7th, 2009 at 6:03 PM ^
Jai Eugene had also just had a child and wanted to be close to him/her. I think that was the main issue.
November 7th, 2009 at 3:57 PM ^
Thanks for this. I hate Saban and 'Bama but I want them to win just so it helps to keep the "we should've hired Miles" douche bags off the site.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:09 PM ^
That will just add more fuel to the "we should've hired Saban" fire.
November 7th, 2009 at 3:57 PM ^
Stanford is now up 9-0. 10-0 pending an XP.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:01 PM ^
OSU just punted from approximately the PSU 32. Would have been a 47 yard FG attempt. Punt was a touchback. That was a bad decision before the punt was a touchback, though.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:03 PM ^
kicker is out for the year - I think the Vest would have went for it if that was not the case.
The PSU offense looks horrible right now.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:04 PM ^
We can only hope Sweater Vest plays that conservatively against us.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:06 PM ^
away from taking a 14-0 lead into the half. They have a chance to add another score too.
The Great Weis Whale is not looking too happy on the sidelines.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:08 PM ^
Navy missed the FG
14-0 at the half.
A Notre Dame loss would really help my mood.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:10 PM ^
A OSU loss would help ease some pain too.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:08 PM ^
by Navy - 14-0 Middies at the half.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:14 PM ^
of Standford is a beast - bringing back memories of "touchdown" tommy vardell
November 7th, 2009 at 4:18 PM ^
Oregon down 10-7 but Stanford has a 1st and Goal on the Oregon 5
November 7th, 2009 at 4:20 PM ^
now up 17-7
PSU scores now 7-7
some good action going on.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:37 PM ^
backup kicker (he of the buckstache variety) just came through with a nice kick.
On the other side of the country Stanford has scored again. 24-7.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:38 PM ^
Oregon is really screwing the pooch. Must've read their press clippings all week.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:46 PM ^
a much needed TD.
Don't forget that Stanford had a buy last week and thus an extra week to prepare. I'm biased but I think Harbaugh is a heck of a coach - great game plan so far.
BUT - they need to keep scoring to beat Oregon.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:47 PM ^
down - ground can't cause a fumble -
BTN refs are soooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Awful.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:53 PM ^
tOSU game: That ball hit his foot! How can that still be a touch back?
November 7th, 2009 at 4:58 PM ^
mind.
IF PSU recovers it is a TD - so how in the world is that not a safety.
In other news - Stanford scores again.
November 7th, 2009 at 4:58 PM ^
LOL Navy answers the ND touchdown with a 50yrd TD pass.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:05 PM ^
but Wake is up 17-10 on the yellow jackets
November 7th, 2009 at 5:06 PM ^
I get so frustrated watching this Ohio State offense. It feels like playing a game of Madden. The person you are playing against can't do much on offense at all, their guys are constantly covered. No matter what, they just end up tucking the ball with the QB and gaining 15 yards.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:08 PM ^
refs are trying to blow as bad as B10 refs - awful unsportsmanlike call on The Cardinal.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:11 PM ^
Jimmah really needs to learn to slide
November 7th, 2009 at 5:12 PM ^
Clausen is down and hurt
EDIT: I hope he's OK, but I'm happy for the fumble,
November 7th, 2009 at 5:13 PM ^
Evan Sharpley is still around.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:17 PM ^
Man. ND looks like its falling apart. Navy could blow it, but holy hell are they steamrolling the ND D.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:17 PM ^
I honestly think that ND fans will be more upset about this than we were about Purdue. They cannot stop Navy. I think it was Trey Wingo talking about this offense being the new "it" thing in the coming years. Maybe he was right.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:20 PM ^
IIRC ND fans were mad pissed when their 3-9 team lost to Navy in 2007.
>IF
they lose this game it is way worse than the M loss to Purdue.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:17 PM ^
fullback has about 150 yards right now.
Guy is a mack truck.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:21 PM ^
If ND pulls one of their "miracles" in this game I will lose it. It's a joke that they are still considered a BCS bowl team. I don't want that idea to continue.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:24 PM ^
I was just thinking the same thing. Right when Navy bogged down after driving it 50yds from their own 1. I don't like how this is setting up.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:23 PM ^
Is Robby Parris doing his best to look exactly like Jeff Samardzija? Or is it just me?
November 7th, 2009 at 5:25 PM ^
I think his goal is to look like a poorman's Jeff Szmaridziaalaxxx
Dude could really use some conditioner.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:27 PM ^
And he needs a tramp stamp like Jeff.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:25 PM ^
Maybe he'll put a Cubs hat on while on the sidelines
November 7th, 2009 at 5:27 PM ^
LOL! No luck of the Irish yet!
November 7th, 2009 at 5:29 PM ^
And Jimmy got a personal foul! Great stuff.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:33 PM ^
Jeeeez. Why can't teams ever close out the Irish?
November 7th, 2009 at 5:35 PM ^
is down for the Bucks.
I don't want to speculate but it looks like a knee injury.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:36 PM ^
ducks.
Pac10 refs like B10 refs refuse to call holding.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:40 PM ^
It is a little ridiculous. I don't remember hearing anything about it, but I feel like the NCAA must have decided to de-emphasize holding calls this year. I don't understand why so many separate reffing crews can ignore what seem like obvious holds.
November 7th, 2009 at 5:42 PM ^
Unless it's a play on which Minor scores a touchdown.
